yoshie : I have some questions. (3)

I'm living in Sydney, Australia. Sydney is early fall at the moment. So It's really comfortable crimate these days^^ I like it.
Anyway I'd like to ask you something.
Ofcourse I often talk with international friends in English everyday.
We usually talk about our personal topics. But we don't have much good English skill yet.
I'd like to know how can I ask these things, or are they correct?

How many boyfriends have you had?
(I want to ask that how many boyfriends did you fall in love with before...)

In Japanese we have the verb "tsukiau". It's very useful word for asking about that. e.g If I say just "tsukiatteru". It mean a main person has a girl/boyfriend. It's quite easy for me. But If I transrate it...It should be "relate"?

....I have no idea. X(

yoshie : Just a month, from a day I arrived here. (2)

Hi everyone!
I've not writen the journal for a few weeks. I'd like to tell you about my Australian life today.
So finaly I could find a language school, a share room and a job.
Actually I really miss Japan.haha But I'm enjoying Sydney.
I went to the beach that is one of famous beaches in Sydney. It was a school excursion.
After I arrived at Sydney I saw rain everyday though, fortunatelly the day we went to the beach was quite sunny!!
We had a BBQ at beach side. I was surprised. Because BBQgrills were fixed on the beach and everybody can use them.
In Japan, when we'd like to do BBQ, we must prepare by ourselves. How about your country??

I'll write about my class. My class has about 13 students. Half of us are from Thailand. And Korea, China, Brazil and me.
Luckily a student from Japan is only me^^ It's very good for my education. I can't use my own language in the class.
But one thing, Thai students often use Thai language in our class. So sometimes I wonder I came here for studying Thai language???
I can understand their mind but I suppose they shouldn't speak their language, at least while theacher is talking to us.

Anyway I might write a journal soon.
Thanks. Bye!

I went to HADOWS that is American style steak and live restaurant last night. I had a great time with my friend. The HADOWS had invited a band that is formed by American and Japanese. A singer is American women. She had a good voice and, American drummer also had a deep great voice!! They sang some famous English songs. Such as "Life" "Time after Time" "Stand by me". Of course I've enjoyed all of these songs. I became a fan of them. And...I felt like I'm already living in Australia. Because they were speaking in English and HADOWS's interior designs were exotic Style!XD

yoshie : The Japanese language is subtle. (8)

Hi! everyone. It's a sunny day! I had a potluck supper with my international friends　yesterday! I made a cheese cake and brownie. It was really enjoyable!
By the way, I think the Japanese language is a little subtle. Do you know "setsunai（切ない）", the Japanese word? If I search this word in dictionary, I see this meaning is "sad" or "painful". But maybe most of Japanese think it's not true meaning of "setsunai". They are a little similar, but not same. umm...It's difficult to translate. The meaning of "Sad" is "kanasii悲しい" in Japanese. And "painful" is "痛い".　 But "setsunai" and "kanasii" are not equal. The meaning of "setsunai" is like a feeling of psychological pain. Such as when you can't get something(It's almost case of love).

yoshie : Translation of slang words. (4)

Hey~:D It's sunny more than yesterday!!! I have a question. How do you think about translation of slang words? For example... I think English native speaker's often say "coooool!" "crazyyyy!!". I already know that meanings are ”かっこいい””くるってる”. But, If we translate as it is, there are very strange....(そのまま翻訳したらおかしい。って言いたい) So I think vest translations are "いいね！"　"すげー！"　"やべー！". Of course, we should choose the good word case by case though. How do you feel?? Please tell me your opinion, even though you are Japanese.....By the way do you know あげぽよ～, the word of young people？haha It may don't found from your dictionary（^皿^）

And, we ate some seafood meals at hotel.
Many cats settle down at the seaside. I think they can get food from　fisherman because of living there. They were very cute, so I took a picture with a cat. But, I love dogs than cats. haha
And, we went to Kamakura（鎌倉）. Do you know about Kamakura? Kamakura is very famous sight seeing spot! Many Japanese and foreigner come to Kamakura every day. I have been to Kamakura three times until now.
Other day, we ate a big plate!! It was a plate of curry and rice,a hamburger, a cheese cake! It was really heavy meal though delicious!!

Hi!　Winter is coming to Japan.... It's a very cold day!
Well...are you studying Japanese? If you say yes, do you already know "がんばって"？
"がんばって ganbatte" is very very common in Japan.
It means "do your best!" "good luck!" something like that.
Also "がんばります　ganbarimasu" is　"I'll do my best!" "I'll try it!" something like that. We really often use these words. You should add it on your vocabulary right now^^haha You can use them for a lot of situations.
The picture is Mt. Fuji I took.

がんばります！

(Are they correct??)
I'm drinking a "Matcha-Latte"♪　Do you know Matcha? It's green powder tea, the Japanese traditional drink^^ It's sweet and a little bitter. This package I'm drinking is for sell at the convenience store. In reality, Matcha is poured into the bowl(本当は器に入ってるんだよ　って言いたい。笑).
Hi! It's a fine day.

I had a good weekend with my friends. I went to Kichijyoji(吉祥寺) for going
to the hookah shop with a few friends. My friend likes a hookah. He said nowadays hookah is popularity between young generation in Germany , his country. He took us to the hookah shop. The shop manager is from Syria. He can use Arabic, English, Japanese, German, and Spanish...so crazy.（Actually he might speak more languages..） haha We had a chai. It was delicious and sweet.
Smell was likes a cinnamon. Maybe...I don't become a fan of hookah though I was able to experience funly. I mind my health a little bit. :)
Hookah is a English name, Arabic name is a　Shisya(シーシャ).

yoshie : "Zutto" (10)

Hey, what's up? It's a very cold day. It's raining all day.
Could you listen to this song? I like it. Lyrics is so beautiful. We often hear the phrase "Zutto（ずっと）" in these lyrics. It means "always" or "forever". Tatsurou Yamashita is famous Japanese male singer who sang this song. He has a relaxing voice. This song's title is "zutto issyo sa(ずっと一緒さ)" = "We are always together". If you didn't know until today, please remember "Zutto", the beautiful Japanese word:)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f31aocW2FA0&feature=player_popout
