Recently my friend said it that most Japanese can't speak English.
It's reason that all Japanese can speak Japanese so they don't need speak English.
It's luck things.
I was suprised this thinking.
I think that it's correctly opinion.
But it's not fun.
I want to talk people in all over the world so I should study more English.

最近、私の友人は日本人の多くは英語を話せないと言いました。
全ての日本人は日本語を話すことが出来るから日本人は英語を話す必要がないと友人は言いました。
そして、それはとても幸運なことだといいました。
私はその考え方に驚きました。
私はそれは正しい意見だと思います。
でも、それでは楽しくありません。
私はもっと英語を勉強して世界中の人と話をしたいです。

What's funny is that in the United States, the Japanese are known for knowing multiple languages and being very sophisticated people. When I was a child, I was told by one of my teachers that the Japanese make fun of Americans from the U.S. because we only know one language.
For me to read your writing that some Japanese people do not know English or want to learn English was very surprising. The Japanese people are so respected where I live that many people are trying to learn Japanese, reading manga, watching anime, and have a growing interest in Japanese culture. I only just recently learned that English is the most difficult language in the world to learn. So, I guess I am pretty fortunate to have it as my native language. Again, thank you for helping me to see that! I am an English Major at my University. It's not valuable here in the United States, but maybe I can travel and teach my language around the world. =)
