Yesterday, the typhoon almost hit Japan in this night.
On this morning, it was a sunny day.
On this afternoon, it was a cloudy day.
On this night, it was a strong windy day.
By the way, typhoon is a English word for taihuu/台風 in a Japanese word.
I like it's because those word sounds just look like same.

昨夜、台風が日本を直撃しそうになりました。
朝は晴れていました。
午後は曇っていました。
夜は豪雨でした。
話が変わるが、日本語ではtyphoonという英単語を台風といいます。
私はこれらの単語の響きがとても似ているので好きです。

Last night, a typhoon almost hit Japan in this night.
"The" suggests it was a typhoon previously known to the reader. But considering that some readers may have not known about it, "a" works better.
Also, "yesterday" and "this night" is a little redundant. You only need to say this once.
This morning, it was a sunny day.
Saying "it was a sunny day" or "it was a cloudy day" implies that the whole day was sunny or cloudy. Saying "it was sunny" or "it was cloudy" implies only that it was sunny or cloudy during some part of the day.
In the afternoon, it was a cloudy day.
At night, it was a very windy day.
You could alternatively say:
"At night, we had strong winds."
By the way, "typhoon" is a English word for "taihuu" (台風) in a Japanese word.
Wow, I didn't know that. Very interesting.
I like that, because those words sound the sounds just look like alike.
I'm happy that I know about how to choice "It was a cloudy day" or "It was cloudy".
During some part of the day.
I'm more happy that you like this entry.
~^^~Thank you!
i hope every one is safe.
but i think if i'm in japan now i will go out during the typhoon.
Hahaha~You are really vampire.:-E
You can enjoy typhoon.
So you should come Japan soon.~^^~
but you should come with me too :-E
In the morning, it was sunny.
"This morning" is also okay to use.
"It was a sunny day" is also okay by itself. But your next sentence talks about "In the afternoon", so it will not work together.
In the afternoon, it was cloudy.
We use "in" for these:
Examples:
1) In the afternoon
2) In the morning
3) In the mornings
4) In the afternoons
5) In the evening
6) In the evenings
We use "on" for these

2) On Tuesday afternoon
3) On Friday evenings
4) On Saturday morning
5) On Sunday morning
6) On Monday evening
At night, it was very windy.
We usually say this because it's more common and shorter.
