Kaminarimon is a very famous sight-seeing area and it is popular for tourists, but do you know that there are statues called "風神雷神" enshrined in the both sides of it?
雷門は観光客に人気の観光地としてとても有名ですが、その雷門の両側に風神雷神像が安置されている事を知っていますか？
So, officially it is called "風雷神門(Furaijinmon)".
なので、正式には「風雷神門」と呼びます。
The 雷神 is the god of thunder and enshrined the left side of it like the picture on the left.
雷神は雷の神様で雷門の左に上の写真のように安置されています。
The 風神 is the god of wind and enshrined the right side of it like the picture on the right.
風神は風の神様で雷門の右に上の写真のように安置されています。
They make a pair and often depicted set.
風神雷神は対になっていて、よく二人一組で描かれます。
Incidentally, I took the pictures above on my way home from work today.
因みに、上の写真は今日家に帰る途中に撮ったものです。
