Recently, I had a question about an American idiom. [You have already found out the answer to the question, so in English, it is more natural to say "I had a question" (past tense).]
So I searched for 'LOL' with GOOGLE.
'LOL' is laughing out loud! [Alternatives: 'LOL' is short for 'laughing out loud.' 'LOL' stands for 'laughing out loud.' 'LOL' is an abbreviation/acronym for 'laughing out loud.']
Since then, I also used 'LOL' on FACEBOOK, TWITTER :^) [You are saying that you have used it, and will continue to use it. In English, this is a situation where it is natural to use the simple present tense of the verb. You can also say: "Since then, I, too, have been using 'LOL'..."]
