( Protctory is a training school for boys and girls who have troubles...
like stealing, leaving home, hitting or kicking someone)
I think they couldn't have supportive person in the prosess of growing.
Playing baseball is teaching thm how to make confidece, try something with frends, make effort and suceed.
Some boys have lost their mother in their childhood.
One boy wrote a diary that he hopes his mother in heven look after his play.
One boy who hitted his mother wrote a letter that he will give fine play for his mother's birthday gift.
I hope they will grow again with good process and aware that their parents's and their inner voice that they can do it.

I think they didn't have any supportive people around them while they were growing up. (You can say "in the process of growing" but you would say that more about animals or plants, not people.)

(You can have "their inner voice and their parents'" but it's difficult to work out the meaning. Sometimes you have to reword sentences in a longer way so it is more clear.)
