I wrote a summary and reaction.

Summary

In the Second World War, Annmarie Johansen lived in Copenhagen, Denmark and she had

the best friend called Ellen Rosen. In Denmark, many Jews lived there, Ellen is one of Jews.

Annmarie and her family tried to rescue Ellen and her parents because the Germans have

started leading away Jews. One night, Peter Nielsen visited Annmarie's family and told them

the German soldihey ers have started closing Jewish stores.

He worked in the Danish Resistance and he also was Annmarie's old sister called Lise.

Next day, he took Ellen's parents into hiding, and Ellen came to live with Annmarie's family.

In the middle of night, the Nazis arrive at Annmarie's apartment and they were looking for

Ellen's family, but Ellen wasn't arrested by them thanks to Annmarie's mother. After then,

Annmarie's family and Ellen visited uncle Henrik in Gilleleje. Ellen was hidden in his boat

by him. And Ellen's family survived the German soldiers. Two years later, they returned

Denmark and Denmark and became living life in peace again.



Reaction

I was attracted Danish who defended their country and Jews against Nazis, and

Annmarie and Ellen's strong tie. Although they were only ten years old, they

understood tough situation. If Annmarie's family didn't rescue Ellen's family, they

would arrest Nazis and they would be killed. The Resistance fighters also flourished

on this story. Peter and Annmarie's old sister Lise fought against Nazis. I think that

they were killed by the Germans, their work led to citizen and Jews to freedom.

They were very brave for rescuing Ellen's family and defended their country.
