It wasn't until I was a junior high school student that I had been praised by teacher.
The first man who spoke well of me was a prep school teacher that taught English and Japanese.
He said to me "Your linguistic sense is particular and wonderful!".
As I had never been praised of my ability about language,
I was very surprised and felt happy and proud.
Because I liked Japanese and had interest in foreign language-English-,
I was very encouraged.
Even as from entering a high school, the affinity between teachers and me was not good
but prep school teachers continued to praise me.
(The prep school in my high school days was another one of in my junior high school days.)

Affinity implies a good relationship. To refer to an affinity that was not good is a bit contradictory.

You don´t need a ¨but¨ here because you already an ¨even¨ at the beginning of the sentence.
