~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
コメント：Hello! This is a paper for my Japanese class. I would really appreciate it if you can provide corrections~. Thank you so much in advance!! ^^
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Childhood is a very important time for development. According to the World Health Organization, the time from infancy to about eight years old is a period of rapid growth. During this time, children learn various things such as language, social skills, and self-awareness. If they do not learn these things properly in their infancy, people may experience problems including mental illness and heart disease. Additionally, people develop their personality and interests during childhood. Therefore, early childhood education is very important for children.

A child’s environment affects children’s knowledge and personality. The more stimulating an environment, the more children develop and learn. Additionally, it is said that children learn more quickly if they receive a lot of love and attention. According to research, children who were raised in a good environment had higher IQ scores. In addition, they were taller and had more brain activity. However, if one lives in a negative environment, he cannot learn these things and his brain does not properly develop. The child may develop cognitive, social, or behavioral problems. Although cognitive ability and social problems can usually be improved if the child’s environment becomes better, behavioral problems such as aggression are difficult to fix.

Playing is especially important for children to develop. Throughout childhood, children learn various skills through their toys. For instance, if children play with a ball, they develop their motor skills. If children play with blocks such as Lego, they will develop hand-eye coordination. Additionally, if they play on bikes or swings, their muscles and stamina become stronger. Children develop their brains through games and toys. If children play with toys, they learn about simple math and physics such as shapes, numbers, and cause and effect relationships. As they grow older, they can play more complicated games and learn strategy and how to plan. Children also learn social skills through toys and games. If children play together, they make friends and develop communication skills. Additionally, if they play games, they learn teamwork and how to use their imaginations.

Reinforcement is also important for child development. Reinforcement is the use of rewards and punishment to change behavior. Research has said that rewarding good behavior is good for a child. The reason is that if children receive praise, they will work hard because they want to be praised again. Additionally, if a child receives rewards and praise, he builds a good relationship with his parents. According to research, praise yields more consistent behavior than punishment.

Because parents and other adults have a big effect on a child’s development, parents should provide a good environment for the sake of their children.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
新しい言葉
世界保健機関・せかいほけんきかん・World Health Organization
幼児期・ようじき・Infancy
急速・きゅうそく・Rapid
成長・せいちょう・Growth to adulthood
交際術・こうさいじゅつ・Social skills
自覚・じかく・Self awareness
環境・かんきょう・Environment, circumstances
幼少期・ようしょうき・Early childhood
幼児教育・ようじきょういく・Early childhood education
含める・ふくめる・To include
精神病・せいしんびょう・Mental illness
心臓病・しんぞうびょう・Heart disease
伸ばす・のばす・To develop
刺激的・しげきてき・Stimulating
注目・ちゅうもく・Attention
響く・ひびく・Affect
感情・かんじょう・Emotion
対処・たいしょ・To cope with
消極的・しょうきょくてき・Negative, passive
認知・にんち・Cognitive
社会的・しゃかいてき・Social
行動・こうどう・Behavioral
脳活動・のうかつどう・Brain activity
改める・あらためる・To change or mend
攻撃的・こうげきてき・Aggressive
栄養・えいよう・Nutrition
技能・ぎのう・ Skills
根本的・こんぱんてき・Basic
運動スキル・うんどうすきる・Motor skills
目と手の協応・Hand-eye coordination
創造・そうぞう・Imagination
有益・ゆうえき・Beneficial
複雑・ふくざつ・Complex
戦略・せんりゃく・Strategy
計画・けいかく・Plan
強化・きょうか・Reinforcement
褒美・ほうび・Reward
処罰・しょばつ・Punishment
行儀・ぎょうぎ・Behavior
称賛・しょうさん・Praise
一貫して・いっかんして・Consistently
生ずる・しょうずる・To yield
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

ソース

http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/fs332/en/index.html
http://www.factsforlifeglobal.org/03/
http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/2006/feb/18/medicineandhealth.lifeandhealth
http://www.learningtimenow.com/parenting-tips/92-early-childhood-development-how-important-play-is-for-your-childs-development
http://www.child-development-guide.com/child-development-play.html
http://www.adoptionarticlesdirectory.com/Article/Why-Toys-are-Important-for-a-Child-s-Development/83491
http://www.kidsmakingchange.com/Positive_Reinforcement/cms/Positive_Reinforcement.html
http://www.aish.com/f/p/48931157.html

Yesterday I watched a horror movie for the first time. Before watching One Missed Call, I wanted to watch a horror movie that was less scary. When I asked my friends, they recommended a Korean movie called The Doll Master. They told me that Japanese horror movies are really scary, but Korean horror movies aren't that scary. So, yesterday I decided to watch The Doll Master.

My friends told me that this movie wasn't scary, but since I had never seen a horror film before, it was kind of hard to watch it alone. But in the end, I thought it was a pretty and interesting movie. The ending was also a little sad.

But there was one side effect. Before yesterday, I didn't really care for dolls, but now I really don't like them.

Maybe next time I can watch a scarier movie.... (Actually I think I still can't watch horror movies TT)

akemi : 질문~ (3)

Hi everyone!

I have a question about how to use 은/는 & 이/가 properly~.
So far no one can explain it to me.
I'm really confused, because everyone says something different.

This is what my book says:

이 and 가
The particles 이 and 가 determine the subject of a sentence that depicts an action. The food is delicious. Korean is fun.

은 and 는
The particles 은 and 는 follow the topic noun of a description sentence. The topic noun is the noun that the sentence describes. Michael is small. Jeong-Ho is tall.

However, I think 음식이 맛있습니다. and 한국어 재미있습니다. are not sentences that depict action at all -_-; Aren't you describing food and Korean??? haha ;; It's kind of difficult.

My friends all say different things, like it depends on the sentence, or이 and 가 is mostly used for food, or things like that. However, no one can give me a clear answer! T_T

Please help me out~
Answers in English please ^^;;
