When I was a fresher, I joined the girls hockey club of my university.
At first, I entered the club as a staff because I had not play sports before.
However, team mates around me played hockey and I gotta want to play hockey together.
So, I had very hard time to success as a player.
Sometime, I could not have found what I should do to be rated high by our coach.
So this is a big news to me!
Today was my first time to take part in an official game!!
Finally, my dream came true!
Of course , I have many things to improve such as basic skills.
がんばるぞ！(Whay do you say this in English?)

私は大学一年生の時、自分の大学のホッケー部に入部しました。
はじめ、私はマネージャーとして入部しました。何故ならそれまでうんどうけいけんが全くなかったからです。
しかし、私の周りのチームメートたちが楽しそうにホッケーしているのを見て、私も一緒にホッケーしたくなりました。
だから、わたしはプレーヤーとして成功するまでに苦労をしてきました。時々、コーチの人に高く評価されるためにどうしたらいいのかわからなくなりました。
だからこれは大きなニュースなんです！
今日私は初めて公式戦に出場しました！とうとう私は夢を叶えたのです！
もちろん、まだまだ改善点は
あります。

Something interesting: In Australia, we usually call 「大学１年生」 'First year uni students'. :) I've never heard the word 'fresher' being used.
At first, I entered the club as a staff member because I had not played sports before.
When I first joined, I entered the club as a staff member because I had not played (hockey) before.
However, my team mates around me played hockey and I gotta wanted to play hockey together with them.
"However, my team mates got to play and I really wanted to join in".
So, Hence I had a very hard time to find success as a player.
Sometimes, I couldn't have found figure out what I should had to do to be rated high noticed by our coach.
There were times where I just couldn't figure out what I had to do to catch the coach's notice.
-> Contracted words such as 'couldn't', 'wouldn't' and 'shouldn't' are more informal than the proper term 'could not', 'would not' and 'should not'. In this entry, you write informally, so I think it is more natural to use contracted words here.
