Hachiko was name of the dog of Eiyano - a professior teaching at a university in Japan. since first time they met, they were close friends.
every day when Eiyano went to work, Hachiko followed him to the station and waited him there until his owner came back.

In 1935 Hachiko died when he was still waiting. A staute of him was put outside the station. Although the staute is small, it is not difficult to find.
It has been the place where stand waiting for each other(その文書は日本語で分からない).

hundreds of people were here waiting for their friends or lovers every day.
