This is my 290th entry, so the date of my 300th entry is August 13th. I feel that this 300 entry come soon since my 200th entry. I have about 230 days in Vanuatu until I go back to Japan, so I will be able to achieve 500th entry before I leave Vanuatu. I'm looking forward to seeing my advance in English when I post it.
Anyway, I'd like to write a few things that happened yesterday.
First, it was rainy almost whole yesterday. It sometimes rained strongly. As I sometimes wrote, I don't like rain in Vanuatu because my pants get dirt easily when I walk outside. However, according to my memory, rain fell at the beginning of August last year and after that the weather kept very fine for about 20 days. In my memory, the weather of August and October were usually fine. Like last year I hope the fine weather will last for a while.
Second, my colleague in my room often produce a belch. He often say "Oops. Excuse me," after he does so. However, yesterday was different from usual. After lunch he made a belch that took over a second and toned low, and he said, "...Amen." I was shocked. Why did he say so? Is it normal for Christians?
Lastly, my hair and beard are growing since I came to Vanuatu. I tried new hair style. As the picture shows, I bound my whole hair at the side of my head, in this case, right side. I thought that no women as long as I know try this style, so I wanted to test. I don't really think that it's odd. I hope that people in Vanuatu will want to imitate it. What do you think about this style?

I feel that this 300 entry comes too soon.
I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to say here. I hope this correction works.
I have about 230 days in Vanuatu until I go back to Japan, so I will be able to achieve my 500th entry before I leave Vanuatu.
I'm looking forward to seeing my improvement in English when I post it.
First, it was rainy almost the whole day long.
You can also say, "it rained almost all day."
As I sometimes wrote, I don't like rain in Vanuatu because my pants get dirty easily when I walk outside.
However, according to my memory, rain fell at the beginning of August last year and after that the weather was very fine for about 20 days.
In my memory, the weather of August and October were usually fine.
You said this in the last sentence. It's okay to leave this out now that people know what you're talking about.
Second, my colleague in my room often belches.
He often says, "Oops.
Why did he say that?
I tried new a hair style.
As the picture shows, I bound all my hair up at the side of my head. In this case it's the right side.
I thought that, as far as I know, no women try this style, so I wanted to test.
Also, your friend sounds like a funny guy. He may be Christian, but I don't think he's very religious. :D
How about my English?
This is my 290th entry, so the date of my 300th entry will be August 13th.
Maybe the future tense works better there.
It sometimes rained strongly.
I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but does, "It sometimes rains very strongly," work?
As I have sometimes written, I don't like rain in Vanuatu because my pants get dirty easily when I walk outside.
Haha, I know how you feel about the rain - I live in a rainforest.
I don't think "wrote," fits perfectly. I think that you should use its past participle, "written," (note: there is always the word "have," or "has," in front of a past participle).
Here, this website should explain it in more detail: http://www.ecenglish.com/learnenglish/lessons/simple-past-or-past-participle
I remember that the weather of August and October was usually fine.
I don't like completely deleting things, so I changed "in my memory," to "I remember." That's what we say instead of saying, "In my memory."
Ah yes, the whole was/were thing. That one is pretty tricky. I still make that mistake too.
What you did is called a "number shift." A number shift is when the verb is in a plural form when the subject is singular - OR the subject is plural when the verb is singular.
The subject of this sentence is, "the weather."
That means that the verb must be, "was," because this is the singular form.
Does this make sense to you? It's pretty difficult to get used to. I'm going to send you something that explains number shifts more, and an exercise so you can pratice getting these right.
Do you know what a subject is?
Like last year, I hope the fine weather will last for a while.
I'll check this site. Thank you.
I used "were" because I misunderstood that the subjects were "the weather of August" and "the weather of October" like "You and I" as subjects.
Also, thank you for being a supporter of my hair style.
Our rainforests are on the western coast.
They look like this: http://farm2.staticflickr.com/1386/5128430485_8dda102b88_z.jpg
Good luck in your learning!
This is my 290th entry, so my 300th entry will be on August 13th.
more natural
It doesn't seem like it's been that long since my 200th entry.
alternate wording, a bit easier to understand
I have about 230 days left in Vanuatu until I go back to Japan, so I will be able to write my 500th entry before I leave Vanuatu.
You don't have to say Vanuatu again at the end.
I'm looking forward to seeing how my English has advanced when I post it.
Anyway, I'd like to write about a few things that happened yesterday.
First, it was rainy almost all day yesterday.
It sometimes rained heavily.
more common to use heavy to describe rain than strong.
As I've sometimes written, I don't like rain in Vanuatu because my pants get dirty easily when I walk outside.
However, if memory serves, it rained at the beginning of August last year and after that the weather stayed very fine for about 20 days.
if memory serves = if my memory is correct
I remember that the weather in August and October was usually fine.
What about September.. do you mean the weather from August to October?
Like last year I hope the fine weather will last for a while, as it did last year.
Second, my colleague in my room often belches/burps loudly.
He often says "Oops.
After lunch he let out a low belch that lasted over a second and toned low, and he said, "...
Why did he say that?
I tried new a hair style.
As the picture shows, I put my hair in a side ponytail, in this case, on the right side.
As far as I know, no women have tried this style, so I wanted to test it.
What is the function of "that" in this sentence?
I might have responded to his joke, mightn't I
like the time between 200 and 300 should feel like a long time, but it doesn't seem that long.
