Yesterday morning, I saw off three of the Japanese volunteers at the airport. As I wrote yesterday, one of them was the pioneer that started "100math" in Vanuatu. Through "100math," I'm going to continue to use some media to increase people's interest in education, so I took some pictures of him for a newspaper and recorded the interview with him for a news on television. When I recorded him, he told me about his idea concerning "100math" his dream in Japan, and his last message to people in Vanuatu. I provided all of the pictures, the videos, and the articles. I'm sure that they will be broadcasted today or tomorrow.
By the way, yesterday was the Shefa privince's day. All of the offcers or schools of Shefa province had off. However, it was not the holiday for us, national officers, so we had to work yesterday. When I stayed at the airport, some Japanese asked me whether I could have off yesterday or not and I answered "No." However, our office was very quiet. There were not so many workers in the Ministry of Education. Furthermore, when I came back to the office after lunch, some workers seemed to get home and the room where there is a copying machine was already locked. After that, I couldn't print some documents. Yesterday was also like their off. They will make a fresh start today.

By the way, yesterday was a holiday for Shefa province.
All of the officers and schools of Shefa province had the day off.
However, it was not a holiday for us, national officers, so we had to work yesterday.
When I was at the airport, some Japanese asked me if I was able to take the day off and I answered "No." However, our office was very quiet.

It was like yesterday was a day off for them too.
Great writing! Just a few things here and there.
1."like"
2. "to be..."
3. an adjective
It seems like the rain has stopped.
When I sat down at my desk, it seemed like someone had been using my computer.
He seemed to be mad at me all day.
He seemed mad at me all day. (same meaning as above)
The children seem excited (seem to be excited) to try 100 Math.
re: the day off vs. a day off
hmm.. it's really hard to explain. Most of the time you can use "a day off"
like the earlier sentence:
All of the officers and schools of Shefa province had the day off.
All of the officers and schools of Shefa province had a day off.
Because you started by saying "yesterday was a holiday..." when you say "take the day off" the "the" is referring back to "yesterday."
<It was like yesterday was a day off for them too>
In this case, you saying they were treating the day like "a" holiday too, and you are focussing more on their actions than anything about the day, so it sounds a better to say "a day off."
I don't know how better to explain it. I took a course in university that focussed solely on "the/a" distinctions in English - it's a pretty complicated aspect of the language and oftentimes the best answer is that one "just sounds better."
