A student won the right to remain his long hair in court.

The 16-year-old student, Lucan Battison was suspended by his Catholic high school last week.
Principle Paul Melloy said, "The reason for the suspension is that he has breached the rules that states students should have short and tidy hair; their hair shouldn't reach the collars or eyes."

Battison has a naturally curly hair, so his hair becomes messy if he gets his hair short.
He argued that the only way to adhere to the rules is he makes his hair in a bun.

On June 27, a judge ruled that the suspension and the rules regarding hair style are illegal and ordered the board of education to pay for the legal fees.
