A very important day is approaching in the following two weeks: the Day of the Death. We, Oaxacans, are preparing ourselves to receive tourists who are willing to spend a few days in a climate of playfulness and color. These days are like crisp air for all of us because our the city economy relies on tourism, so it's time to be happy.

I don't know if tourism will regain the same level attained before 2006. As of this there was a dramatic slump, consequence of a furious clash between the government, and the union of teachers, whom were unfairly kicked out of the downtown by the police. Consequently, teacher fought back against the government's repression and this situation incite tourism leave the city. The following years were as dried as we'd never seen before.

Fortunately, we are seeing a subtle increase this year, so I hope we will have a nice día de muertos.
