I'm telling you, we always use contractions :)
Also, you don't normally put the ":00."

Or, I don't want to guess anymore... (and we'd pronounce it "I don't wanna...")

8- In this part of the country a lot of corn and wheat are grown.
Or, to make it active, We grow a lot of corn and wheat in this part of the country.
9- It had been freezing cold in New York before we arrived.
Great.
3- How long has he had temperature? In colloquial English, this phrasing would be considered correct.
Except for the one addendum I have nothing to add to Floury's corrections which a very good.
