My Favorite Movies

I always read books or listen to music in my free time. I also spend time walking on the streets of my hometown. A few of my friends like going out to dance. They really like dancing but it's not one of my main hobbies. In fact, I don't like dancing. It's better to say "I can't dance" hahaha. Whatever the reason, I rarely dance, so I don't have to spend money on night clubs. What I do like a lot is to see movies on the weekends.
When I go to the movies, I usually go alone because my friends and I can never agree on what movie we should see. I recently saw a movie called "The Hurt Locker". I think it's the coolest movie I've ever seen about war. I don't know if it is boring, because it doesn't have special effects but it has a great story. It was breathtaking to see how soldiers defuse bombs! The mood and the feeling of the film are impressive, so it looked like real war. Most people love movies like "Avatar", which I don't like very much. I hardly ever see movies like this. I remember being told about this film but I didn't pay attention to it. I saw it anyway, but I left in the middle of the film.
I'm a little tired so I can't write anymore.

Whatever it is, rarely do I rarely dance, thereby/therefore (you can use "thereby", but it's more common to use "therefore") I won't have to spend money on night clubs.

When I go to the movies, most of the time I usually go alone. This is because we never agree which movie we should see. (you mention "we" here. Who is "we"? You and your friends? You should clarify.)

It was breathtaking to see how soldiers unmake (the word you are looking for here is "defuse") bombs!

I remember being told about this film but I didn't pay attention to them it (since you are referring to the film). so I saw it anyway, and but I left at in the middle of the film I left.
The sentence you corrected from "rarely do I dance..." to " I rarely dance" is correct, I agree with you. However, here I used the "inversion with negative adverbs". According to my teacher, inversion takes place no only in questions but also after negative words and expressions.
Here is an example.
Normal expression:
_"You will seldom find a family with an empty basement or attic".
(Here the position of the adverb is normal)
Inversion with negative adverbs:
_"Seldom will you find a family with an empty basement or attic".
(Here you choose to emphasize the negative word)
So, I followed the rule to write the idea:
Negative adverb + Auxilar + Subject + Verb
Rarely do I dance.
Hahahaha sorry for all this stuff, here is the question: Is not common in speaking? or in writing? Perhaps my teacher made a mistake.
If you use the inversion with negative verbs while writing or speaking, people will still be able to understand you. However, in my mind, using the rule is more formal than conversational or informal writing.
For example, the sentence you wrote: "You will seldom find a family with an empty basement or attic." It would be more common to find it written as follows: "It's not often that you find a family with an empty basement or attic." or "You won't often find a family with an empty basement or attic."
Honestly, the grammar seems correct, but the structure and the composition of the sentence is strange, especially in informal writing such as this. Does that make sense?

Whatever the reason, I rarely go out dancing, so I don't have to spend money on night clubs. Thereby and therefore are both very formal.
