This week my husband left for a study camp of summer course with his students and colleagues.
On the last day of the camp, he called me.
I talked with him about our summer plans and so on.
While I kept talking to him for a while, he kept silent and seemed to be in a bad mood.
The next moment, he said in an undertone,
"Do you konw why I called you? Today is our wedding anniversary."
Oh, gosh! I just completely forgot that!!
We chose this date August 8th intentionally just because we knew I'm so forgetful....
When I looked up at the calendar that day, all I could think of was "Oh, today is the day of Fuji Television Network (channel 8 in Japan)".
Oh, I'm so sorry!!
This is often a situation where usually wives get mad at their husbands for forgetting their anniversary, isn't it?
Wow, should I write down the anniversary on a next year calendar from now...?

今週夫が生徒と先生たちで夏合宿に出かけた。
合宿の最終日、彼が電話してきた。
夏休みの計画などを話していると、向こうが押し黙って何やら不機嫌そうだ。
次の瞬間、言い放った。
「今日さあ何の日かわかってる？ 結婚記念日でしょ？」
はうっ、やってもうた！Σ(|||▽||| ) 完全に忘れとった！！(>_<)
そもそも私があまりにも忘れっぽいので、わざわざ８月８日を選んだんだっけ。
なのにカレンダー見てもフジテレビの日としか思い出せなかったよ(T－T)
あああごめん！！
こういうのって普通夫が忘れて妻がブチ切れるものじゃないっけ？
ど、どうしよう、今から来年のカレンダーに書いておかないとやばいかな。。。？(;´Д`A

わざわざ、出先から結婚記念日を忘れずに奥様に電話するなんて、日本人男性にとってなかなかできることじゃないと思います。
我が夫はこの３０年結婚記念日を覚えていたことがなく、毎年その朝に私が教えて差し上げています。＾＾

I've posted previously on Lang-8 that, "I treat my wife like ROYALTY on each wedding anniversary. Not only do I take her to Burger KING for dinner, but also to Dairy QUEEN for dessert!" ;-)

Both of those eating places are like McDonald's. Where I take my wife gets a lot of laughs from my students when I'm substitute-teaching.)
