I worked through some problems of my English textbook.
I translated Japanese into English.
Please correct these sentences.
1.You don't know how difficult it is for young people of today to believe something.
(何かを信じるということが現代の若者にとってどれほど難しいか、お分かりにならないようですね)
2.We have to understand not only their languages but also their body languages in order to communicate with foreign people.
(外国の人と意志を通じ合うには、単に言葉だけでなく、身振りについても理解しておく必要がある)
3.Frankly to say, I pretended not to speak English.
Frankly to say, I am pretending not to be able to speak English.

You don't know how difficult it is for young people of today to believe in something. ('I believe the story / article / man' but 'I believe in God / freedom / equality')
We have to understand not only their languages but also their body languages in order to communicate with foreign people / foreigners.
Frankly / To be frank / To tell the truth, I pretended not to speak English. (past tense)
I am pretending not to be able to speak English. (present tense) The sentence is correct with or without 'be able to'; it would also be right to say 'I am pretending / I pretended I couldn't speak English'. This way is probably more common when you're speaking.
