hello,
i am studying in Beijing. there a lot of Europeans and Americains also try hard to study.
generally, the most difficult in studying Chinese is pronunciation. for Japanese, to study Chinese is easier than other country's people, because we use almost same characters.
i think it is the most difficult for Europeans and Americans to study Chinese.
Chinese characters is very difficult to write and to read. we Japanese are get used to seeing Chinese characters. however Chinese characters in Japan used and in China used are not same, we can guess the meaning.
furthermore, for example, in China, when we have a meal, only use chopsticks. Europeans and Americans are not familiar with using chopsticks. in fact, to use chopsticks is difficult, and mothers teach child.
to study language is not only study how to use language, but also study their culture. if so, what is the goal of studying language? it depends on each people. however language is alive, to set up own goals are not easy. i think that studying language is one of the philosophy.

Studying languages
I am currently studying in Beijing.
There a lot of Europeans and Americans who are also trying hard to study.
Generally, the most difficult thing in studying Chinese, is pronunciation.
The study of Chinese is easier to Japanese people than to other countries people, because we use almost the same characters.
I think that Europeans and Americans are the ones that find it the most difficult to study Chinese.

However, Chinese characters used in Japan and those used in China are not same, but we can guess the meaning of certain characters.
Furthermore, another example is that in China, when we have a meal, we only use chopsticks.
In fact, to use chopsticks is difficult, and mothers teach their children.
Studying a language is not only about the language, but also about studying their culture.
If so, then what is the goal of studying a language?
It depends on each person.
however language is alive, to set up own goals are not easy. ← 意味がわかりません :(
I think that studying a language involves philosophy. (?)
Hi Tocopeso!
I agree with you. If we study a language, is because we want to know about their culture.
Also, you're right... learning a lot of kanji is very difficult!! haha
Good luck with your studies in Beijing! :)
good luck your study!
