shin-chan : A living will (4)

A living will

I think I am not old to prepare for my death and I do not want to die strongly, but I am writing a living will. I have a goal as a researcher. Of course I will try to achieve the goal, but I expected I can not do that. Thus, I started to write the goal on the first page of my notebooks on which I wrote my idea and pasted articles of scientific journals. I hope my notebook will be accomplished in the future.

shin-chan : If you could go back to yourself in ten years ago with your current memory, what would you do? (12)

If you could go back to yourself in ten years ago with your current memory, what would you do?

It is mundane scene, but I read a tale about a man who goes back to himself in ten years before. He is satisfied his own life, so he repeatedly do as in his previous life in the tale. Then, I imaged if I could return to myself in ten years ago. Of course I wanted to do that, because I want to be younger as much as possible. Ten years ago, I was in second year in a high school. I would neuroscience in that life too. I would go to a foreign university. Uh, what I want to do would be not changed if I would go back. Aha, many of papers what I know would not published in that life.... It would be boring to retrace those studies. I just want to be young. I come to think that the evidence of what I got old is that I cling to such a mundane scene. There is no choice, I would face it. So, I have a question.

If you could go back to yourself in ten years ago with your current memory, what would you do?

shin-chan : I have stomachaches. (9)

I have stomachaches.

In these days, I have strong stomachahes especially when I am hungry. One of my coleagues is a doctor, and he said I seemed to have gastritis or duodenitis because of stress. The excess gustritic acid may attack your stomack or duodenum. For a while, I should use commercially available medicine, and if your symptom will not improve, you shoud go to hospital. It is so painful now.

shin-chan : The Earthquake (2)

The Earthquake

Today, I woke up because I felt being shaken faintly. After a while, I was strongly shaken. I was surprized to jump out from my bed and I checked news. In Kansai, strong earthquake occurred today, especially in Awaji city. 18 years ago, Hanshin-Awaji earthquake destroyed Koube city, so many people seems to remind that memory. Fotunately, I have not heard serious damage this time.

shin-chan : Something what I think after I translated the Takase-Bune. (6)

Something what I think after I translated the Takase-Bune.

I translated a novel Takase-Bune which was written by Ohgai Mori about 100 years ago in the privious four entries of Lang-8. For the first time, I read it when I was in high school in Japanese class, and when I went to look at cherry blossoms in Takase River, I reminded it. I remembered that it was a short story, but it is too long to translate it. I was too optimistic.

Ohgai Mori was one of a first professional novelist in Japan. One of the theme of Takase-Bune is comfortable death. Now the theme is not outstanding, but at that time it seemed to be novel. Ohgai Mori was doctor, too, so he might hit on the theme. 100 years ago, the written language was more clearly different from spoken language than recently, so it may be difficult to read it even if you are good reader of Japanese. I feel a kind of beauty from such written language. A phrase which is often used are too familiar to felt specialty from them. I do not like reading a novel too much, but when I read something written by such a written language, I feel like I was given a present with special and elegant wrapping. However, If the written language is too old, it is too different from present Japanese to read it fluently. Thus, when I read such a old one, I felt like I was given a present in a locked box with complicated keys. I prefer to a novel about 100 years ago.

It was too long, so I do not expect someone correct these entries. I would be happy, if you would read and enjoy it. Maybe, there are many things what you can not understand in my entry caused by my poor English, and I will welcome to be asked some questions about that.

shin-chan : Takase-Bune/A Boat on the Takase Canal- written by Ohgai Mori :part iv/final part (3)

Takase-Bune/A Boat on the Takase Canal- written by Ohgai Mori :part iv/final part

Gazing Kisuke's face, Shobe talked to Kisuke again, "Mr. Kisuke". This time, Shobe added "Mr.", but he did not intentionally change how to call Kisuke enough. Thus, as soon as Shobe heard his own voice, he noticed that this calling was not appropriate for it, but he could not take back his word anyway.

Kisuke, who answered "Yes, sir", seemed to wonder why he called "Mr.", and he paied attention to Shobe gingerly.

Shobe dared to ignore the bad mood and he asked, "I asked too many things, but I heard you ordered to go to far island this time, bucause you killed some one. Please tell me why you killed him in passing."

Awe-struck Kisuke answered, "Cirtainly sir.", and he started to talk with small voice. "I thought something wrong way, and I did such a terrible thing, so I am very sorry to talk about that. I think about that later, I wonder why I could do such a thing, even though I did that. I did it so intently. My both parents was killed by epidemic disease when I was child, and only I and my brother remained. At first, my neighbors help us as if they feed puppy which is borne under eaves, so we growed up as errand boy of neighbors without stervation and freezing. After we have grown up, we were together as much as we could, and we worked and helped each other. It was the last autamun. We went to Nishijin(which is famous place for weaving in Kyoto) and we started to use Sorabiki (Japanese traditional loom). At a not so far day, my brother got sick and he could not work because of the disease. At that time, we lived using house buit directly into the ground without supporting stone in Kitayama, and we attended working place through the bridge across the Kamiya River. At evening, I boutht foods or so and I returned to the house, my brother had waited to greet me and said that he was very sorry that he had Kisuke work alone. Some day I returned to my house as usual, but I found my brother fell prostrate on the Futon/bed and there were full of blood around him. I was very surprised and threw some luggage wraped by the coat of bamboo, and I asked him, 'what's happened? What's happened!?'. Then, my brother took up his pale face which was full of blood from cheek to jaw, and he looked at me, but he could not say anything. Every time he breathing, it sounded 'phew, phew' at his lip of a wound. I could not underestand what was occurred, so I asked, 'what is happened? Did you disgorege the blood?' When I tried to go beside him, he put his right hand on the floor, and he rose his body a little. His left hand was strongly put on his jaw where was the wounded place, but some cluster of black blood was coming out from among his fingers. My brother looked at me as he stopped me, and he said. He became to be able to slightly say something at that time. 'I am sorry my brother. Please forgive me. I seems not to recover, so I want you to be easy to live by my early death. If I cut my throught, I could kill myself easily, but only my breath leaks from the lip of a wound, and I could not die. I tried to put the knife deeper and deeper, and I push it by my full powere, but the knife dirited, but the knife seemed not to break down. If you pull the knife right way, I think I could die. Ah, it is difficult to say something. Please help me to pull the knife.', he said. When my brother loose his left hand, his breath leaked there. I tried to say something, but I could not, and I saw the wounded place. Then, I found that he cut cross his neck using his right hand, but he could not die, so he pushed the knife deeper. I could see only two sun (about 6 cm) of the grip of the knife from his lip of the wound. I just saw that, and I looked at my brother's face with out any plan to save him. My brother gazed at me at that time, too. I squeezed to say, 'please wait, I will got to call for a doctor.' At that time, my brother's eyes become like he hates me, and he put his left hand on his wound and said, 'What can the doctor do? Oh, it is painful. Please pull it faster! Please!' I was at a loss, and I just gazed at my brother's face. In such a case, eyes say somethig misteriously. My brother's eyes said,'faster, faster!', and he looked at me with reproachful eyes. I felt like something like wheel turn around in my head repeatedly, but my brother did not stop his terrible requirement. The eyes became more severe, and he looked at me as if he gazed at his enemy who he cursed. When I saw that, I started to feel like I had to do as he said. I answered, 'There is no way. I will pull the knife.' Then, the way of my brother's gazing changed completely and he looked like he wasvrelieved and pleased. I bent myself forward with kneel in order to pull it at once. My brother loosed his right hand, which had been put on the floor, and　the other hand was put on his wound by then, but he put his left elbow on the floor and laid down. I grasped the grip of the knife, and pulled it at onece. At that time, an old woman opened the front door, which I had shut up, and she came into my house. I had asked her to take care of my brother like she helped my borother to have medicine. It was very dark in my house, so I did not know how much she saw what I did, but She cried out,'Ah!' and she ran away from there without shutting up the front door. When I pulled the knife, I had consentrated to do that fast and straitly, but I felt that I cut intact part. The edge directed outside from his neck, so I seemed to cut outside of his neck. Gripping the knife, I blearliry saw the old woman came in again and went out from the house. After the old woman went out, I found myself and watched my brother. Then, I knew my brother already passed away. It bleeded so much from the lip of his wound. Until the the old personages come to me and they took me to the government office, I just gazed at my brother's face which's eyes left to open a half."

After Kisuke, who had looked up the shobe's face directing down a little, said that, he dropped his eyes on his knee.

Kisuke's story seemed to be reasonable. It is no wonder that someone said that it was too reasonable and too detailed. This was because Kisuke have thought back to the event repetitively, and whenever he asked that at the government office or the court examined him, he reminded that pretty mindfully.

Shobe listened to the story as if the event occurred in front of him, but he found a question whether he killed his brother or it is murder at the half of the story, and he could not resolve it after he listend to the whole story. Kisuke's brother said that he could die if the knife was pulled, so please pulled it. Thus, Kisuke did it and he caused his brother's death, so that some people recognized that Kisuke killed his brother. However, if Kisuke had not done that, there might be no way to avoid his brother's death. Then, Kisuke's brother want his own death because he could not bear his pain. Kisuke could not stand to see his brother's pain. Kisuke tried to save his brother from this pain to kill his brother. Is it crime? Murder must be crime. However, to considerate that it was because he tried to save his brother from the pain, he had a question and he could not resolve it any how.

After Shobe thought much about it, he came to think it is no way excepting for that the judge was decided by the better officer than Shobe and Shobe should just obeyed the authority. Shobe tried to apply the judge of court for his own judge. Even though he tried so, he could not be convinced with all things, so he wanted to ask to the court about that.

During the night was going on with the dimmed moon, the two silent persons on Takase Bune was gliding on the dark surface of the water.

shin-chan : Takase-Bune/A Boat on the Takase Canal- written by Ohgai Mori :part iii (0)

Takase-Bune/A Boat on the Takase Canal- written by Ohgai Mori :part iii

After a while, shobe could not keep silent, and he talked to Kisuke,"what are you thinking now?" "Yes, sir?", Kisuke answered and he looked around. Kisuke seemed to think that the officer clammed something about Kisuke's behavior and he had to take care about that, so after he straightened himself, he paid attention to Shobe.

Shobe felt that he had to explain why he asked Kisuke suddenly and had to make an excuse to require the response of Kisuke independent of the official work. Therefore, Shobe said, "Ur, There is no serious reason to ask you. To be flank, I have wanted to ask you what do you feel to go to your far island for a while. I have escorted many people who went to some island with this boat. Many people have each different circumstance, but every people felt sad to go to island, so the criminal and his or her relative who saw him or her out extremely cry out through the night. Compared with that, you do not look you feel sad to go to island. What on earth are you thinking now?"

Kisuke smiled. "Thank you for your kind regards. It seems to be reasonable to feel sad to go to far foreign place for the other people. I can infer that mind. It may be why the people felt comfortable in their lives so far. Kyoto is good place, but I thought in any place, it is pretty difficult to find terrible pain what I experienced in such a good place. The officer's mercy saved my life and I can work at the island. Even if the island is a hard place, the island must not be the hell/place where some demon live. From now, I could not have found a place where I could stay. However the officer gave me an order to stay there. It is very good for me to settle down to one place at first. In addition, my body does not look so strong, but I have not had disease, so I will not injured my body even if I will do hard works after I will arrive at the island. Then, when the officer ordered to go to island, he gave me money about two hundred mon (about $20 in present). I have the money here.", Kisuke is answering that and he put his hand on his chest. It was a rule that two hundred mon was given to the criminal who was ordered banishment at that time.

Kisuke continued to answer, "It is embarrassed to say, but I have not had two hundreds mon in my pocket. When I want a job, I walked and asked it around. Immediately after I found a job, I worked painstakingly. Though I earned some money, but I had to pay to the other soon. When my management of money was good, I can bought something by cash, but in almost every case, I had to pay back to debt and had to borrow from the other. However, after I was arrested, I could eat something without working. Only this thing, I worried that I caused the officers problem. Furthermore, when I went out from prison, I was given this two hundreds mon. I still eat something from officer, so I did not consume the money and I still have it. It is the first time for me to have my own money. I expect that the two hundreds mon will be the seed money of job in the island." He said that, and he came to be silent.

Shobe just answered, "I see", but because Kisuke's each answere was so surprizing for Shobe, so Shobe could not say any thing for a while.

Shobe was almost old man at that time, and he already had four children. The grandmother lived together with Shobe, so the number of their family was seven. Usually, Shobe had so frugal lives that he was called miser, so he only had clothes for the work and sleepwear. However, his wife was from rich merchant. Though the wife had a intention to live on only her husband's salary, she could not control the consumption enough to be surtisfied her husband, because she was indulged by her rich parents. Thus, Shobe's family was often short for money in the end of month. At that time, the wife was given some money from her parents in secret, because Shobe did not like splurge as much as caterpillar. However, Shobe could not ignore such a thing at the end. Shobe felt uncomfortable even when he was given a present at children's cerebration in spring or clothes in festival for 3-year-old boys and girls, 5-year-old boys and 7-year-old girls. Thus, when he noticed that his wife compensated the shortage of the money using her pairents' money, he became bad temper. It is the reason why shobe's family sometimes had trouble, even though his family was usually peaceful.

After he listened to Kisuke's answer, Shobe compared Shobe's circumstance and Kisuke's one. Kisuke said that even if Kisuke did hard works and earned his money, his salary went in one side and out the other side immediately. Indeed his circumstance was pitiful and regrettable. However, when Shobe thought back to his own circumstance, he wondered how different between Kisuke and Shobe. Shobe also just transferred his official salary from one side to the other side. The difference between Kisuke and Shobe seemed to be only digit on the calculator so to speak, and Shobe had no savings of two hundreds mon, which Kisuke was thankful for.

Thus, to considerate the difference of digit, it was no wonder that Kisuke was pleased for the saving of two hundreds mon. However, Shobe wondered that Kisuke had no greed and he was satisfied with his current situation.

Kisuke had been suffered from finding his job. If he had find his job, he worked painstakingly, and he had been satisfied with the small amount of meals like he just pasted glue on his mouth. In the prison, Kisuke was surprised that he could get his meals which had been difficult to find for him without working, as if the God give the meals, and he knew satisfaction which he had not known from his birth.

Shobe found a great difference from Kisuke. In Shobe's life using his salary, the income and outgo was usually balanced well, though the money sometimes ran out. It was subsistence. Thus, Shobe had rarely felt satisfied with that. Usually, he did not feel neither happy nor unhappy. However, in his deep mind, he potentially had an anxiety about when he would be fired or his family would become a serious disease, and when sometimes he noticed that his wife compensated the shortage using her parents' money, the anxiety came over to threshold of his conscious.

Why on earth such a difference occurred? Just looking at the surface, someone might easily think that it was why Kisuke had no relatives whom Kisuke had to support, but Shobe had. However, it was a lie. Even if Shobe would have been single, Shobe could not have thought his own situation as Kisuke. Shobe thought that the root of the difference was underlying deeper than he thought.

Shobe started to think a kind of human life vaguely. If someone had got sick, the one might have wished if the one had not got sick. If someone could not have eaten something well, the one might have wished if there had been many food. If someone had had enough saving for some emergency, the one might have wished if the one had had enough saving. If someone had had saving, the one might have wished if there had been much more saving. Like that, when shobe thought it on and on, he came to think that human beings could not stop their desire. Then, Shobe found that this Kisuke showed the evidence that human being could stop their own desire.

At that time, Shobe looked at Kisuke with astonished eyes. Shobe felt like Kisuke's head ,which looked up the sky, cast holy light at the moment.

shin-chan : Takase-Bune/A Boat on the Takase Canal- written by Ohgai Mori :part ii (2)

Takase-Bune/A Boat on the Takase Canal- written by Ohgai Mori :part ii

The detailed time could not be decided, but maybe it was kansei era (1789-1801) when Shirakawa Rakuou conducted the affairs of State. When the bell which told the spring sunset under the falling cherry blossoms of Chionin temple, a rare and previously unheard of criminal was taken on the Takase bune.
His name was Kisuke, and he was about 30 years old without any fixed address. He had no relatives who came to the prison to see him, so he took on the Takase bune alone.
Shobe hata who was ordered the escort of Kisuke and took on the Takase bune with Kisuke. Shobe had only heard that Kisuke killed his younger brother. While they went from prison to jetty, skinny and pale Kisuke looked solemn and placid indeed, and he looked up to Shobe as an officer and he obeyed shobe well. Furthermore, the attitude was different from subservient ones that some other criminals sometimes shows and was mimicked submission.
Shobe wondered. After they took on the boat, he paid precise attention to Kisuke's behavior not just because of his role.
That day the wind from evening stopped blowing, and thin clouds covering the whole of the sky and they dimmed the outline of the moon. It was a night felt like that the slowly approaching hotness of summer rising from clod of both-side bank as mist. Apart from southern part of Kyoto city, and joining to Kamogawa river, it was so quiet that they could only hear the sound of water split by the bow.
Though the criminal could sleep on the boat at night, Kisuke did not try to lay down, but he looked up to the moon which light had become blighter or slighter dependent on the density of clouds, and he kept quiet. His forehead was beaming and his eyes had slight brightness.
Shobe did not see his face directly, but he could not look away from his face from beginning to end. In addition, he repeated a phrase "something weird" in his mind many times. That was because Kisuke really seemed to enjoy this trip anyway Shobe looked his face, and he looked apt to start whistling or hum, if he had not felt reserved about the officer.
Shobe thought, "I can not remember how many times I have escorted criminals, but any criminals had showed so miserable ambiance that I could have not look them directly as the same way. However, how is this man? He looked as if he took on a pleasure boat! I heard he killed his own brother, but even if his brother was stupid, he must feel bad if he has humanity. Is this pale and skinny young man one of most evil men in the world? I can not think so. If any, he can be crazy. No way! He have not show unreasonable words and behaviors. How is this man?". The deeper Shobe thought about it, the more he became confused.
-Takase-Bune/A Boat on Takase Canal- written by Ohgai Mori

Takase-Bune was a boat which went up and down on Takase canal in Kyoto city. When some criminal was ordered banishment in Kyoto of Edo/Tokugawa era, some relatives of the criminal were called and they could say good bey to the criminal there. Then, the criminal was sent to Osaka under escort using Takase-Bune. The escort was an officer who belongs to Kyoto's court, and it was a custom that the officer permitted a representative relative to take on the boat together to Osaka. It was not official thing, but the court gave a tacit approval to the officer.

At that time, the criminals who was ordered banishment were recognized to commit serious crime, but many of them did not kill people because of selfish and heinous reasons like a robbing or setting in a fire. Most of the criminals who took on the boat commit a crime because of some kinds of failure without intention. For common example, a couple tried double suicide, but one person survived.

The boat left around when the bell rang to tell the sunset taking on such a criminal, and it went to east with seeing blackened houses along the Takase canal, and went down the Kamogawa river. On the boat, the criminal and his relative talked about their life through a night. The story was always deep regret but the situation never recovered. The officer who escort could know their circumstance to hear the regret beside them. The circustance was too bad that some officers who just listened to the their superficial statements on the courts or just read the texts about the criminals never think up the circumstance even in their dream. There are many characters even in officers, so some offecers who escort the criminal thought their story was annoying and just shut up to listen in cold blood. However, some officers felt sad as if the circumstance was their own one, though they did not show such a face because of their role. Ocationally, with some pretty miserable criminal and his/ her relative, when the officer had weak heart and was easy to cry, the officer could not stop to drop their tears with his intention. Thus, the officers did not like the role of the escort on the Takase-bune as a unconfortable job.

I have almost no money now.

I opened my wallet this Monday, and I found only 431 yen (about $ 4.5). I was surprised, because I have to manage to live in this money till tomorrow. I bought too many things this month. My mother sent me many foods this week, so I will survive this time. Thanks, God and my mother! I see. We should have a certain schedule to use our money.

shin-chan : Pretty difficult to speak in English. (4)

Pretty difficult to speak in English.

Now, I often talk with native speakers of English, because I have to improve speaking skills imidiately. This chance made me find that it is completely different between writing and speaking. Even when I listen to English speaking, 100 % concentration is needed for me, so I can not do the other things well. I can not do creating sentences in my brain and speaking at the same time, so my sentences are often entangled and it takes too many time to talk fluently. I know my talking is not good rythms for good conversation, and I am often dissapointed in my speaking after talking. In addition, I have to pay attention to pronounciation.

Writing is much easier. I wrote something at once, and I can reorganize it. In addition, it takes more time to type or write something than pronoucing the same thing, so I can create a sentence in my brain easily.

It is very stressful that I can tell only 10 % of what I want to say. Of course it is stressful for the listners, too. I am very sorry about that, and I thank the listners for talking with me who is so immature speaker of English.

Perfect 完璧 (Kanpeki) -final-

The previous stroies there.
1
http://lang-8.com/221538/journals/34727751087464635143695923480581768869/Perfect-%
25E5%25AE%258C%25E7%2592%25A7-%2528Kanpeki%2529
2
http://lang-8.com/221538/journals/94140017324706148902391668348428093093/Perfect-%25E5%25AE%258C%25E7%2592%25A7-%2528Kanpeki%2529-2

Lin Xiangru went to Jin's capital Xianyan, and he gave the Juery to the king of Jin. However, the king of Jin just kept showing the juery to his supporters and being proud of it to them, but he did not start to talk about the 15 castles. Lin Xiangru saw attitude of Jin's king and judged that he did not have any idea to give us their castle. Thus, Lin Xiangru approched to Jin's king with saying that it had a scar there. He robbed the juery and rushed to a column. Lin Xiangru showed so strong anger that his hair and his hut like crown looked rising. He said, " there are many suspectic opinion against this suggestion, but my load believed it and did a 5-days ceremony to clean up his own evil, and he passed me the juery, so I can bring it. The your rough handling of the juery and your atiitude is too impolite against my load's sincer! I see! I have to crash the juery and my head using this column!" The king of Jin rushed to bring the map and tried to talk about the castles, but Lin Xiangru thought it was a superficial behavior and the king had no idea to give us the castles. Thus, Lin Xiangru required a 5-days ceremony to clean up the king's evil in order to recieve the juery. During this ceremony, Lin Xiangru ordered his servant to return back to Zhao with the juery, and he stayed Xianyan in order to make a time for his servant's returning.

After the 5 days, the king of Jin asked where the juery is, and Lin Xiangru answered, "I have not heard that present and past kings of Jin had kept promise. You seems not to give us the castle, so I had my servant bring it back. If you give us the 15 castles, Zhao will not regret to give the juery, but please give me death penalty compensateing for my repeated impoliteness". The supporters for king of Jin suggested to kill him, but the king impressed the brave heart of Lin Xiangru. The King said, "it is meaningless to kill you. Furthermore, it just gather the Zhao's hate.", and the king forgave Lin Xiangru.

The negosiation ended up with there was no exchange. Jin entertain Lin Xiangru as a national guest, and he returned to Zhao. Zhao's people prepared for Lin Xiangru's national funeral, so they are surprised Lin Xiangru's returning with their joy. He saved the juery without scar （完璧） as his mension.

After this event, Lin Xiangru became a minister of Zhao, and he saved Zhao many times form Jin, and Jin did not try to invade Zhao during his working time. However, after his retire because of his disease, Zhao would be extinct soon.

Now, 完璧 means perfect in Japan and maybe in china.

shin-chan : Perfect 完璧 (Kanpeki) -2- (4)

Perfect 完璧 (Kanpeki) -2-

The previous story is there.
http://lang-8.com/221538/journals/34727751087464635143695923480581768869/Perfect-%25E5%25AE%258C%25E7%2592%25A7-%2528Kanpeki%2529

The supporter, Miao Xian, recommended Lin Xiangru and he talked about his story. In the past Miao Xian commited a crime, and he made the king of Zhao angry. He was afraid of the punishment, and he tried to go out from Zhao to Yan. Lin Xiangure who is Miao Xian's guest asked why Miao Xian went to Yan, and Miao Xian answered that when he met the King of Yan, the king of Yan shaked his hand and begged him to be friend with the king of Yan, so the king of Yan would welcome him. However, Lin Xiangru answered back, " you are wrong. Yan is weak compared with Zhao. The reason why the king of Yan begged you to be friend is the king of Zhao thought much of you. Now, you are a criminal and you lost the credite from the king of Zhao. Thus, the king of Yan would rather catch you and would have you return to Zhao." Miao Xian upseted because Lin Xiangru's words are reasonable. Lin Xiangru told that if Miao Xian went to the stage for execution with his own opinion, and begged his king to punish his crime, the king of Zhao may forgive Miao Xian's crime with admiring Miao Xian's loyalty. Miao Xian did as Lin Xiangru's recommendation. The rusult was exactly same what Lin Xiangru said, and Miao Xian recovered the king's confedence.

The king of Zhao heard the story and he convinced that Lin Xiangru was suitable for consulting about this problem. Therefore the king invited Lin Xiangru and asked him how to deal with the problem of Juery. Lin Xiangru answered, "Jin is strong and Zhao is weak, so we have to accept the suggestion. We should clame problems after the acception." The king said back to Lin Xiangru, "However, what should we do if the castles will not be given even though we will give the juery. There is no negosiator who can deal with this problem." Lin Xiangru answered again,"if there is no negosiator, I will go to Jin and I will return to Zhao with juery without scar when Jin will not give us the castles." Thus, Lin Xiangru became a negosiator for Jin.

To be continued to next entry....

shin-chan : Perfect 完璧 (Kanpeki) (8)

Perfect 完璧 (Kanpeki)

Now, my situation is far from perfect, but the story is my favorite one, so I explain about 完璧 (the juery without scar), perfect.

More than 2000 years ago, an ansient chinese country, Zhao, had a famous juery, Ha Shi Bi. The neighbor and strong country, Jin, asked to exchange Jin's 15 castles and Ha Shi bi. Ha Shi Be was very famous juery, but the region including 15 castles is pretty large, so it was good suggestion for Zhao. However, it was good, but strong Jin always tried to invade other countries, so the suggestion seemed to be just a superficial promise, and Jin just requred Ha Shi Be without keeping the promise. If Zhao gave the juery for free, it was the same as Zhao became a slave country with its opinion. It would break Zhao's honor and the other countries look down on Zhao. However, if Zhao refused Jin's suggestion, it is the same as Zhao gave a chance to invade its country, becuase Jin would insist that Zhao is impolite refusing such a good suggestion. The king of Zhao discussed with his supporters, but there was no good conclusion. In addition, no one wanted to be messenger to go to Jin, because it was like go to home of predetor. The king of Zhao became at a loss, but a supporter told that one of his guest, Lin Xiangru, was enough brave and wise to deal with this problem.

To be continued to next entry.....

shin-chan : Kira-Kira name (1)

Kira-Kira name
In Japan, many parents give Kira-Kira name their own child recently. Kira-Kira indicate that something looks bright, so unnecessarily flashy name against traditional name is called Kira-kira name. Please refer to http://lang-8.com/221538/journals/773680/The-name or http://lang-8.com/221538/journals/775123/The-name-2 about Japanese naming method. The chinese character asighned of Kira-Kira name is anormalstical and it is difficult for general Japanese people to read it for example, 緑輝(sapphire, the character's meaning is green-bright), or it has not good meaning, for example 心太 (shin-ta,the character meaning is heart-boldness), which is the same chinese character of jelly like Japanese traditional food, tokoroten. There is many parents want to name their own child distinct way, but many Japanese people seem to think that Kira-Kira name is strange and it is not good. Is such a problem unique to Japan?

shin-chan : Descrimination in Japan (12)

Descrimination in Japan

I wanted to write about other countries people in Japan, but I found a good movie suggesting Japanese educational problem about descrimination.

http://www.youtube.com/embed/MxnmMrWOj3c?feature=player_detailpage

To be frank, I felt like my chest was scrached out imidiately after watching this video, because the video point out Japanese agry parts. This video includes some misunderstanding and I feel this video describes descrimination in Japan too sensationaly. I did not know the Baka-chon-camera because the calling was used before I was born and the gesture indicating Burakumin. *I heard this chon is not derogatory term of Korean but people who lacks interigence. However, this video shows good quolities. Learning about descrimination is not zero but very limited in Japan and mainly dependent on parenting. In addition, human being have a potential to descriminate the others.

When I met a Chinse frenend ten years ago, I noticed my descrimination factor, prejudece. He is a nice guy. I noticed I was surprised such interesting person is Chinese. It is odd thing, isn't it? However, I did not think I had prejudece at that time.

I confess my projedeces.
Asian people including Chinese and Korean are emotional and easy to anger.
The western and African people do not care about small things and do not have fine sensibility.
Italian and French are womaniser.
etc....

Now, I have good Asian friends and they have recieved my words with good patiant.
My friends have given me detailed and good corrections in this site.
My past impression is completely changed recent years, though that of Italian and French still rmains..... I'm sorry, it is kind of joke.
However, I may still have prejudece, because it is difficult to find miself ones.
Because it is difficult to change the concept which has been constructed for a whole of life.

Thus, I feel bad, but I like this movie. The most important problem about this movie is that some Japanese people, who thought his movies including this video insulted Japan, clamed to delete this movie and insisted that he is not apropriate for his working posision. I am so sorry to hear that. His movies are funny and interesting for me. I hope they will find a good way to resolve this problem.

shin-chan : Male dominated Japanese society.... (1)

Male dominated Japanese society....

I heard that it is considered that Japan has relatively strong male dominated society. Surely, it is rarely use them, but there are phrases 男尊女卑 and 亭主関白, which means that male greater than female. The female members of Diet are only 7.9 %. The female income is smaller than male one in Japan. In many case, female family name integrates to male one after marriage. My Chinese friend said that Japan is male dominated society.

My hometown is conservative place, and I was often told from my mother, "we supports you, so you do your work hard in order to protect us." Yes.... I know such facts, but I have no chance to realize female is persecuted in Japan. I have often heard that Japanese females want to be full-time housewife. They have good ability to insists something and exploit us. I feel stronger wife is good at showing her husband stronger. Wearing a mask of modesty, they control their family.
Uh, I wrote too much.... I have to care myself, so I stop writing this today.

Because Japanese females are relatively easy to quit a job, employers tend to hesitate to employ them. Thus, for female workers, Japan may be difficult society. However, we rarely look down on females, and, at least, I think much of them.

shin-chan : The cute is justice. (6)

The cute is justice.

A phrase interests me recently. The phrase is "かわいいは正義 The cute is justice". I heard that the phrase is catch copy for a comic, Strawberry marshmallow. I do not know the original meaning, but we often find the phrase using as cute person or things is as mighty as justice. Surely, we (only I?) tend to supports cute person or things with (almost) any condition. Thus, I come to think that we look something as justice is not different from feeling something cute so much. I feel much more fun when I insists that something is cute than that something is right. Our hypothesis cuter than yours! Capitalism is cute! Japan is cute!

Sometimes, is it good to use it?

shin-chan : Cream stew udon. (3)

Cream stew udon.

In Japan, there is curry udon. Udon is a kind of noodle.

https://www.google.co.jp/search?q=%E3%82%AB%E3%83%AC%E3%83%BC%E3%81%86%E3%81%A9%E3%82%93&aq=f&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=ja&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=MCQiUfCxJYiUkgXnrYDoBQ&biw=1276&bih=636&sei=NCQiUZqyEsyBkwX6yYGgCw

Therefore, I tried to cook cream stew udon. I boiled udon with consomme, and I added the roux of cream stew. The concept was good. It does not taste bad, but it is too salty, because salt is kneaded into udon. I should have put off the cooked liquid once.

shin-chan : My hometown (11)

My hometown is Kagoshima, which is one of the most southern part of Japan, and is far from my living city, Kyoto. I have lived Kyoto for nine years, and I had came back to Kagoshima only several times during the nine years. Because my home had became easy to go central station nine years ago, I saw the complete change of the landscape around my home whenever I returned to my home. Now, I have not come back there for three years. During my absent, the house at home was renovated, too! I heard it recently, and I was surprised. After this news, I want to come back, but I decided that I would not come back before I will finish my present work. How much will my home town change till I will come back, and how will I feel it?
It was cold today and snow fell at night. It reflected the light from window, and it made the road bright a little. Of course, my heart, too! I hope I will share it with you.

shin-chan : Today (1)

Today, I talked and had a diner with a scientist. As I reflect on today's myself, it was too bad. I was disappointed myself. My words did not make sense. It may be one of reasons that the fields of the scientist is a little apart from mine. Even so, I could say much better things. I recognized that I did not have enough ability. Taking a walk, I will consider how to improve myself from now.

shin-chan : The problem of Windows8 (1)

I found some problems in Windows8, after I arrange my network environment. we can use applications in start page, which is different from traditional software in Windows8. It is useful for tablet with touch panels. However I connected with Internets, the start page applications do not recognize the connection. I heard this problem is due to Windows8 trouble, and depends on implementation of store application. Now, I heard Microsofts tried to resolve the problem. In Windows8, we can use traditional software in Desktop application, so I can use the function. I want to use application freely!
