The boss's wife is designer of clothes and she lived in Kyoto about ten years ago to study aizen-zome (Japanese traditional clothes). She said Japanese fashion or design is very new, and in kyoto, because there are many traditional buildings or spots, she was impressed. I think Japanese things is old and regular,so her words surprised me.
I explained my job to the boss and his wife in broken English supported by my associate for half of an hour. When I heard the boss reworded my explanation to make no confusion, I'm surprised and shocked how short (1 to 2min) this is. (And I decided to join the lang-8.)
