I wrote about 250 steps of Tanukidani temple resently. Hiwatari festival was held in there. Mountain priests, Yamabushi, perform a ceremony. Yamabushi profess Buddhism fused with Japanese aincient mountain worship, and they get training on mountain. I showed a Yamabushi in the first left picture.
First, they praied in a Buddhist shrine like in the first upright picture. Next they go to the fire altar tooting a kind of whistle made by conch shell. After they exorcised evil things using holy phrase, paper, water and arrow, they set fire like in second picture. Finaly, they spread the burnig charchoal, and they walked over the charchal praying for our happiness on their bare feet. Incidentally, the burning was contraled well and charchal was not too hot, every people could participate it on the day. If you want to get your feet helthier, it maight be effective at least.....

I wrote about the 250 steps of Tanukidani temple recently.
The Hiwatari festival was held in there.
Yamabushi profess Buddhism fused with Japanese aincient mountain worship, and they get training on top of mountain.
First, they prayed in a Buddhist shrine like in the first picture.
Next they go to the fire altar blowing a kind of whistle made of a conch shell.
After they exorcised evil things using holy phrases, paper, water and a arrow, they set a fire like in second picture.
Finaly, they spread the burning charcoal, and they walked over the charcoal, praying for our happiness, in their bare feet.
Incidentally, the burning was controlled well and the charcoal was not too hot, so everybody could participate that day.
If you want to get your feet healthier, it maight be effective at least.....
Thank you for your nice corrections!
