I encountered an interesting story in today's newspaper.
It's a story about Ann Morrow who is wife of a very famous airman, Charles Lindbergh.

It says that she was very impressed with the Japanese greeting word; "さよなら:
"さよなら: Sayonara" made a transformation from "さようならば: Sayou naraba" or "そういうことなら: Souiu koto naraba" which means though I don't want to part with you deep in my heart, I'll do it if I have to do.
She said that Sayonara was the most beautiful word that she had ever heard.
I hadn't known the meaning of "Sayonara:" before reading the story .
