Watching Western movies, I often heard "I love you," as if it was a kind of greeting.

Yesterday, my husband found sashimi in the fridge and said delightfully, "Wow, you bought my favorite sashimi!"
So I said humorously in English, "Sure, because I love you!"
Then my daughter said, "きもっ!:Disgusting! If you said it in Japanese, I would retreat.I can't imagine that Dad says to you that."
Of course I couldn't say it in Japanese because it's bashful for me.
My husband and I have said it each other only once since we met, even though we have known for more than 30 years.Ha,ha.

I know that it's strange for Western people, but it's definitely Okay for us.
