I read about Richard Halberstadt, who is a British associate professor at Ishinomaki Senshyu University in Miyagi prefecture.
Since the British Embassy in Japan had issued Evacuation order on March 17 last year, he drove to Sendai on March 19.
But he came back to Ishinomaki the next day and has worked hard to aid the suffers since then.
He is often said by others, "Your personality seems like Japanese."
He thinks it's because British unexpectedly resemble Japanese.
He said that British tend to be reserved and they think it's not good to get emotional easily.
People in Ishinomaki do their best for people being in trouble, so he wants to do anything for them.
He has lived in Japan for about twenty years and thinks that Ishinomaki is his spiritual home.
I was impressed and appreciate him.
