(A) "Are you a stranger around here?" "Yes, this is the first time I've come to this place."
(B) "Are you a stranger around here?" "Yes, this is the first time I've been to this place."

Do you think these sentences are both correct?
I'd appreciate your opinions.

Both are correct. "Yes, this is my first time here" is more natural than either.

Then, are both (A) and (B) understood like the phrase you wrote?

Both of them can only be said at the place being talked about, since the phrase "this place" is used in them.
The difference between (A) and (B) is negligible. (A) places more emphasis on the fact that the speaker has come to this place (it suggests he or she has made a choice to do so). (B) places more emphasis on the fact that the speaker is at this place now, and may be used whether or not this was the choice of the speaker.
