I watched a documentary movie,“The Cove”.
It revealed hunting dolphin culture at a local fisherman’s village in Japan.
The final scene of it was brutal. Many dolphins that were herded into the cove were stabbed to kill with spears, then the color of water in the cove changed into red with their blood.
I think they should stop the savage hunting, although the main purpose of killing dolphin seems to be controlling the number of them which give damage to fishnet.
All slaughters must be brutal regardless of the species of animal.
I felt little bit strange that only killing dolphin is criticized in the movie.
I thought that if the fishers regard their hunting way as their culture, they should not have tried to conceal it. Their effort to conceal it increased the value of the movie as a documentary.
I feel like to to be a vegetarian after watching it.

I watched a documentary movie named “The Cove”. [I watched "The Cove", a documentary movie.]
It revealed the culture of hunting dolphins at a local fishing village in Japan.
The final scene of it was brutal.
Many dolphins that were herded into the cove were stabbed to kill with spears, and then the color of water in the cove changed into red from their blood.

All slaughters must be brutal humane regardless of the species of animal.
Because of your previous sentence, I think you are suggesting that the killings be less shocking.
I felt little bit strange that only killing dolphins is criticized in the movie.
Their effort to conceal it increased the impact of the movie as a documentary.
I feel like becoming a vegetarian after watching it.
Thank you for your corrections.
All slaughters must be brutal, regardless of the species of animal.
I think what you are saying here is 'killing anything is brutal', right?
I thought that if the fishermen regard their hunting way as their culture, they should not have tried to conceal it.
A lot of people recommend saying 'fishers' rather than 'fishermen' because 'fishermen' implies only men are fishing. but in spoken English, we do usually say 'fishermen'.
When I was a child, I ate whale meat.
It tasted bad.
Thank you for your corrections.
The show is interesting to me because neither side can be too violent to the other side, they have to use restraint, but still try win their fight. So they have to be creative.
Of course, the show does not really give the Japanese side of the battle at all. I think a show about the Japanese side would be just as interesting.
Relating to the ethics of "The Cove" and "Whale Wars". I cannot say I agree 100% with the Western/American view of these issues. But if I was to try and explain why some people think it's okay to slaughter Cows, but not okay to slaughter Whales and Dolphins, they would probably make two points: 1. That the whales and Dolphins are free creatures, compared to the cows who have been bread in captivity for slaughter (I don't know why people think this makes a difference, but some people seem to think it does). 2. Whales and Dolphins are supposed to be almost as intelligent as humans, where cows are not so intelligent. People feel similar about monkey and apes, for the same reason.
Last point. Many of the activists for Dolphins and Whales are vegetarians and vegans who disagree with the slaughter of cows, pigs, and chickens too.
Personally, I am very conflicted inside my head by all these things.
