I visited the Walt Disney Family Museum near Golden Gate Bridge yesterday.

It opened in a historic building in 2009.
I felt it's still new.
It exhibits a ton of Walt Disney's works and belongings in chronological order with lots of audio visuals.
We can use some rooms after as our private party venue in accordance with the size of the guests after open hours.
My customers must like it.

    I'm unaware of the history so you might be correct, but you possibly mean;
    It opened as a historic building in 2009.
    or
    It was declared a historic building in 2009.

    What you wrote means that the building was already historic, and the Walt Disney Family Museum was simply put into the building in 2009.
