Yesterday, I wrote about a science lecture which my son and I had last Sunday.
In my post, I praised the lecturer, but I had one thing that I couldn’t understand what he did during the lecture.
There was a boy accompanied by his grandfather behind our seats, who was about 5 or 6 years old.
When the lecture started, the boy immediately raised his hand and asked a question to the lecturer.
When the lecturer started his lecture after answering the boy's question, the boy immediately raised his hand again.
After a while, the lecturer asked the boy about his question and answered it.
When the lecturer started his lecture after answering the boy's second question, the boy immediately raised his hand again.
However, the lecturer ignored the boy. The boy had kept raising his hand. About twenty minutes after he started raising his hand, he dropped it and started weeping quietly. His grandfather consoled him, but didn’t say anything to the lecturer.
About twenty minutes later, he vomited a little at his seat.
Then, he was taken to outside of the room by his grandfather.
He seemed to vomit a lot on the way to the restroom.
He didn’t come back to the lecture room.
He must have been hurt.
The lecturer should have told the boy that he would answer the boy’s question at the end of the lecture instead of ignoring him.
Most of the participants in the room didn’t notice this happening.
I can’t forget the boy’s sorrow filled eyes.
