Last week I talked with a veterinarian.
He said the most important thing of veterinarian was not the latest operation technique but counseling ability to improve the relationship between a pet and its owner.
The number of people who rely on their pets emotionally is increasing.
The veterinarian will play more important role.

  • Last week I talked with a veterinarian. Or: Last week I spoke with a vet. (In America, veterinarian is often shortened to “vet;” so is the word “veterans.” Fortunately, the two are rarely mixed up. :-)

 
  • He said the most important thing of veterinarian was not the latest operation technique but counseling ability to improve the relationship between a pet and its owner.

  • He said the most important thing about being a veterinarian was not knowing the latest surgical techniques but having counseling ability to improve the relationship between a pet and its owner. Or: He said that the most important thing about being a vet was not knowing the latest surgical techniques, but rather the ability to counsel owners on how to improve their relationships with their pets.

 
  • The number of people who rely on their pets emotionally is increasing.

  • Or: The number of people who rely on their pets for emotional support is increasing.

 
  • The veterinarian will play more important role.

  • The veterinarian will play a more important role. Or, since this sentence is related to the previous one: The number of people who rely on their pets is increasing, so the role of the veterinarian will become more important.

 
I think that this is especially true of the elderly. There are many who benefit both emotionally and physically by taking care of their pets.
