I found different pronunciation between English and katakana again.
"Message and method" are pronounced ”メッセージとメソッド" in katakana.
In other words this small "ッ" means a stopping sound.

However, they aren't pronounced in English in this way actually, are they?

These two words completely Japanize from English.
So, the English learners must pay attention.
カタカナと英語の間に違う発音があることにまた気づきました。
「Message と method」は「メッセージ、メソッド」とカタカナでは発音されます。
つまり、この小さな「ッ」は詰まる音を意味します。

しかしながら、英語では実のところこのように発音しませんね。

これらの言葉は完全に英語から日本語化しています。
だから英語学習者は注意を払わなければなりません。

There is no "th" sound in Japanese, like in English. So, "method" is definitely pronounced differently in English than in Japanese.

We have learned a lot like the sound "th".
And in "message" you don't have long sound between "mess" and "age".

I know the "th" sound is hard for others to pronounce. There isn't a Katakana symbol to make that sound. ツ has an "s" sound as well but "th" doesn't. Most English words and Katakana sound different, but you can guess because they sound similar.

Hi, kensa1. I have the same problem. When I speak with people in English, they often don't understand what I say. In addition to writing, I have to learn speaking.
