When I watched a movie and a TV program, there was following scene.
映画やテレビ番組を見ているとき、つぎのシーンがありました。
A Judo coach told to a player " you show ガッツ(guts), you want to win a game" .
柔道のコーチが選手に向かって「ガッツを出せ、試合に勝ちたいんだろう」と言いました。
This means "根性".
この言葉は、「根性」という意味です。
By the way, when an autopsy, there is “gut” that cover over the intestine.
ところで解剖の時、腸を覆う「大網」があります。
It is a big fat tissue of yellow and soft.
これは黄色く、柔らかい大きな脂肪組織です。
According to the dictionary, these words were the same.

You are really clever. You corrected my phrase to "movie on TV", but actually 2 are true. (haha: I learned how to use it now)
And the example story is funny.
sometimes here in america, we also say balls (like a mans..) , instead of guts. Do you have anything similar in japan? do you ever tell someone they got balls, or guts when they do anything really crazy/brave?

I can imagine "a ball" instead of the guts.
That's reason why men have balls (testis).
However this word is slang.
