I met a foreigner at the church last night.
He is 23 years old and is from Oklahoma.
He had come to Japan as an exchange student.
His grandfather experienced World War II and seems to say " I dislike a foreigner".
I felt very strange that heard the word "foreigner" from him.

However, he got used to Japan because it was beautiful and the people were gentle.
He'll become a priest if a result is good after he works half a year at this church.
The half a year will be much pleasure for me.

Becoming a priest is very difficult. I often have a hard time just reading the Bible, and I can't imagine having to read the Bible as a profession, visit people in hospitals and prisons, and preaching a sermon in front of a congregation every Sunday.

I go to a Japanese-language church every week to practice speaking. I think a priest's job is one of the hardest. At first it's pretty easy, but then you realize you're responsible for keeping in touch with your congregation. You have to remember birthdays, perform weddings, visit the sick, organize church events (like Easter and Christmas), go on missions, balance the church budget, and a lot of financial liability falls on you too. Of course, in a big church, the priest doesn't have to do everything, he can distribute the work to his subordinates and/or deacons.

oh yeah, you also have to perform funerals. In Japan, I guess Buddhist monks do that, but in America, it's always a priest.
