Today my son did his assignment of calligraphy. It's popular to do a special piece of calligraphy for the New Year in Japan, which is called "Kakizome."
He was given 4 sheets for it from school, but he didn't want to write over once.
He failed to write on the first sheet because the allocation was bad. The next was also bad because the first letter was too big. I advised that he should practice on some newspapers, but he didn't want to do it. I shut my mouth and waited what he did next.
He wrote on the 3rd sheet and he seemed to be satisfied.
To write his name on the side, he had to wait for a while.
I recommended him to write on the 4th sheet because he might fail to write his name and he might be able to write better. However, he refused it. He was not greedy.
