Please write the sentences that I read.
'President' - this wasn't very clear, it sounded more like 'present' - make sure you pronounce every syllable
'announced' - the 'ou' sound is like the 'ow' in 'now' and 'how'.
'visited' - the 'v' sounded more like a 'b' to me.
B - you use both your lips. At the start your lips are together, and you make the B sound as you open your lips.
V - you use your top teeth and your bottom lip. They should be almost touching, but not quite. You make the V sound as air passes through the gap between teeth and lip. (This is the same as the English F, but an F should be a soft hissing sound, and a V should be a hard buzzing sound. In grammatical terms, V is 'voiced' and F is 'voiceless' or 'unvoiced'.)
'mark' - this sounded like 'make' to me, but I guessed it was 'mark' from the context. The 'ar' sound is like the word 'are', and the 'ar' in 'car'.
I read the sentences.
U.S. President Barack Obama announced the deployment when he visited Australia last November.
The 200-member infantry landed on Tuesday. A ceremony to mark their arrival will be held on Wednesday.
I understand it when I read "mark" I made a mistake. I read that "make".
