Once upon a time, a little boy hated his mother. The boy hated her because she was the one who let his dad die during a car accident.
Everyday, the mom worried.
Her and her son frequently argued.
Because his mom only had one eye, the son thought she looked like a monster.
When his friends teased him about his mom's eye, he would just laugh along but in his mind, he was actually ashamed of it and cursed his mother.
Each time the son brings up the subject about her single eye, his mom would just slightly lower her head, smile just the tiniest bit, and continue her business, as if he never said anything.
When the son was twenty and attended an out-of-state college, he decided to visit his mother for the first time.
But when he got to the house, she wasn't there.
Instead, a stranger's face appeared.
Confused, the son asked where his mother went.
The stranger gasped, went back inside the house, and came back out with a note in his hand. The son saw the note was written a few months ago.
He read the note.
Dear son, I decided I should have told you this a long time ago.
When I was pregnant with you, your father suddenly disappeared and left me without a word.
I became very depressed and constantly drank.
When you were born, I stopped drinking and decided to whole-heartedly raise and support you.
After a few years, you were diagnosed with a disease that would consequent you losing your eyes.
I couldn't let that happen to you, so I got my eye surgically removed and donated it to you.
I apologize if this have brought hurt onto you.
Please forgive me.
After I finished reading the note, the stranger added, "You won't be able to find her now; she already moved out of country to Africa.
And I don't know how long she's going to be staying there.
That night, the son couldn't fall asleep.
One day, after the son married, an elderly woman knocked on his front door.
Once the son saw the woman's eye, he broke into tears.
The son hugged his mom.
Wouldn't this be a great story for Mother's Day? But I'd have to wait for half a year. So just appreciate your parents and send them some <3
