अब कि मैने नया घर ख़रीदा, मुझे कोई किताब पलंगों-वलंगों के बारे में चाहिए


I came across this sentence. I think it means "now that I've bought a house, I need some books about beds/sofas and similar things?

Can anyone give me a couple more examples similar to the pattern: पलंगों-वलंगों I'm not totally sure how to use it.

This particular style of talking is akin to "and all/and such things" in English.मुझे कोई किताब पलंगों-वलंगों के बारे में चाहिए= I need some book about beds and all. More examples; आपने घर-वर ख़रीदा या नहीं?, परीक्षा के लिए पढ़ने-वढ़ने की क्या जरुरत है? उसे फूल-वूल नहीं चाहिए. This style is more casual and it could be employed to nouns, adjectives and to verbs also.

So basically you just rhyme the first word with another word starting with व ? so किताब-विताब means ''books and such''

Yes, your observations are correct. There might be a few exception to their starting with व but I can't remember any at the moment..

Not just starting with व but any letter that rhymes/suits.
It's not necessary to have second word meaningful.
