These days, I think I'm addicted to lang-8, indeed, I can spend hours on it without getting bored.
When I get back from school I always think about things like 'Did something send me a friend request, did I get new corrections, etc...'.
Moreover, when I go to bed, I often think about what kind of entry I should write.
However, as I like correcting entries and talking with lang-8 members who are really kind and really want to learn new things, I think it's better than being addicted to Warcraft or stuffs like that which turn your brain into a compote.
I can testify that because I had been playing Dofus for 1 year and then I stopped it.
Also, this site makes me realized that I really liked teaching my own language even if I haven't mastered it yet and that I can't explain it smoothly.
Besides, by doing corrections and being active on lang-8, I could met very interesting people which have been helping me lots of times until now.
This entry can be uninteresting but I actually wanted to write it because I thought about it while I was having a shower this morning ^^

However, as I like correcting entries and talking with lang-8 members who are really kind and really want to learn new things, I think it's better than being addicted to World of Warcraft or something like that which would turn your brain to mush.(I didn't know what you meant by "compote", so I just inserted a word I felt was appropriate.)
I can testify to that because I played Dofus for a whole year before stopping.
Also, this site makes me realized that I really liked teaching my own language even if I haven't mastered it yet and that I can't explain it easily.
Besides, by making corrections and being active on lang-8, I have met very interesting people who have helped me lots of times.

A compote in French is a stewed fruit. I thought I could say it in English but apparently it doesn't work :p
Oh really ??? xD How funny !
I'll try to use 'mush' ^^
Belgian have to learn French and Dutch at school but nobody like that. It's a kind of constant war between Flemish and French(belgian french).
Sometimes, you can receive informations only in Dutch even if you had say you were French and don't speak Dutch at all before... ><
Oh well, I suppose if the main conflict in your country is over language you can't be doing too badly.
that's not only language but it's too difficult to explain.
I think that conflict begun long time ago when someone who did speak Flemish and tried to make Flemish the main language in Belgium...

I hope this article will help you
So only in Belgium will I be able to speak English and the people won't get offended. XD
Yeah if you're a foreigner there is no problem !
I can understand now why there's such acrimony. It sounds really awful!
I'm the same as you, quite addicted to lang-8. ^^
I'm happy to know lots of friends with different cultures, ages and who speak different languages here.
When I visited Belgium, I've tried to speak French but ended up with speaking English all the time. XD I think most of you speak several languages.
I can see I'm not the only one very addicted to this website :D
I don't think so. Even if most of Belgians can speak English very good or not at all, we aren't good at languages I guess :p
Oh, really ? But your French is incredible :o...
These days, I think I'm addicted to lang-8, indeed. I can spend hours on it without getting bored. ( These days, I think I'm addicted to lang-8 because/since I could spend hours on it without getting bored.)
When I get back from school I always think about things like 'Did someone send me a friend request, did I get new corrections, etc...'.( someone=quelqu'un, something=quelque chose)
However, as I like correcting entries and talking with lang-8 members who are really kind and really want to learn new things, I think it's better than being addicted to Warcraft or stuff like that which turn your brain into compost/mush. ( After reading the comments, these two words fit the best.)
I can testify to this because I had been playing Dofus for a year before stopping/ I stopped.
Also, this site makes me realize that I really liked teaching my own language even if I haven't mastered it yet. And that it can be hard to explain
Besides, by making corrections and being active on lang-8, I have met some very interesting people who have been helping me a lot up to now. ( "until now" means that they used to help you, but now they don't help you anymore.)
This entry can be uninteresting but I actually wanted to write it because I thought about it while I was taking a shower this morning ^^
As usual you've understood very well what I mean :p
Yes, and the most difficult part is nuances and how to explain them...
take a good care..
Perhaps we'll get tired of it, or not ;)
