My Amazing Chinese Friend

Both of us have been learning English and we are in the same age.

A couple of months ago, we thought we would talk every other week on Skype to stay in touch.

A friend of mine My friend is very energetic and she always tries to improve herself.

"A friend of mine" here makes it sound like you're talking about a 2nd person suddenly.

I really like her attitudes.

"Attitudes" is only used for multiple people.
Example: "You've all got attitudes!" *mad at a group of kids*

Now, she is trying to challenge herself to get a more advanced job in America.

While listening to her story, I became ashamed on of myself.

How to use:
Shame on you.
I'm ashamed.

I thought I'm still lack of making efforts to achieve my goals.

Even though her situation is much more tough than mine, she never even complains about it, and she told me that she is enjoying her situation.

She is really something, and I appreciate to have having such an optimistic friend!

I thought I'm still capable of achieving my goals.

Even though her situation is more challenging than mine, she never complains about it, and she told me that she is enjoying her life.

I'd love to be optimistic like her and enjoy myself.
