I'd love to introduce this funny video clip today. My German friend found this and has posted it on his Facebook wall. It's extremely funny and I couldn't help laughing. A Japanese English teacher is trying to teach English to native English speaking students with a Japanese accent.

Even it's really funny, I can't laugh from the bottom of my heart because I have the similar experiences in my English classes at school. When I was a student, all my English teachers were Japanese who didn't care about their pronunciation. All my Japanese English teachers had suggested to us that we should put Katakana Rubi to pronounce English words. Now, I can tell you that the idea is wrong, but at the time we believed in the method. When I started communicating with people in English, I realized that how much important for us the English pronunciation was. However, it's still hard for me to get rid of my bad habit! I still sometimes think English pronunciation with Katakana. Oh, well........

I agree with you about Katakana pronunciation.
I think it does more harm than good.
It seems like a short cut for both Japanese and English speakers when they lean each others language, but it creates almost a third language that is difficult to remember for both Japanese and English speakers.
