A Canadian Drama

I recently have been enjoying chatting with my new friend on Skype. He is from Canada. I met him on Facebook.

When I chatted with him yesterday, he gave me some tips about Canadian dramas and American dramas. I prefer watching American dramas because I go to America twice to three times a year. At the time, if I know about famous American dramas, it is easy for me to join the group conversations.

Anyway, even though I prefer American dramas, I've been involved in watching some Canadian dramas right now. He gave me some very interesting information about the drama yesterday. I'm thinking after I finish watching a whole episodes of the drama that I've been watching currently, I'd like to watch the sequel series of the drama next time. I can't wait to start to watch the new series.

I haven't watched many J.dramas so far this year. Just 'Stand up!' But recently I started watching 家政婦のミタ because of all the good reviews. I am three episodes in, and I have to admit I find most of the characters a bit annoying/hard to believe, and the script writing not so great. However, I am a 松嶋菜々子 fan, so I will persevere. ^^

Upon your recommendation I found a site for Stand Up at mysoju. Where did you find it? 家政婦のミタ、I think is very interesting. As usual you have to totally suspend disbelief. If one didn't like the way doramah is almost always over the top there wouldn't be much point in watching it. This is a series that goes farther than the others I've seen in making a character (the father) really awful while remaining human. A very weak, despicable human but somewhat understandable. Mita is another story altogether. I think that the exaggeration of her character is a take-off on Japanese stereotypes.

Hi, ダンちゃん. Thanks for the correction and the comment. I haven't watched both 家政婦のミタand Stand up. So, I can't tell you anything about them. However, 家政婦のミタis very popular among Japanese people. The 40 % of Japanese population watched the last episode. It's an amazing number isn't it?
