We have to be aware that individualism and team play culture each have both advantages and disadvantages.
Team play spirit works quite well when we’re in troubles and have to cooperate to get over them together. On the other hand, it might have an adverse effect since we sometimes can feel awkward at disagreeing with everyone else.
On the whole, Many Western people including the Canadian tend to be individualists rather than team players, compared to the Japanese.
For example, many of them don’t wait for others to finish their works, but leave right after they finish, while the Japanese generally feel reluctant to leave sooner than others, so wait as much as possible.
My teacher, who has taught English in Japan, complained about it.

"including the Canadians" is a subordinate clause. It needs to be surrounded by commas, as it is an extra piece of information, but it is not essential to the meaning of the sentence. Hence, the reader can distinguish the main point from the additional details
For example, many of them don’t wait for others to finish their work, instead, they leave right after they finish, while the Japanese generally feel reluctant to leave sooner than others, so they wait as much as possible.
I agree with your ideas. Even though I am not Japanese, I am an Asian and I have observed similar traits. I've also been exposed to the Western culture and I find myself agreeing that they do not have a strong sense of "community" unlike Asians. I may be generalising, but these are just my personal observations.
I'm not sure if "Team Play" is the appropriate phrase, but my alternative does not seem to fit it perfectly either. It's more of "Team Spirit"... but again, these are just suggestions.
Thank you for your wonderful insight! :)
I feel honored you agree and understand my ideas. Yeah, generally speaking, Asian people seem to have tighter team spirit compared to Western. I'm happy if we can talk more^^
