Planned obsolescence is the strategy of deliberately designing products to fail in order to shorten the time between purchases.

From a business person's perspective, I understand perfectly why this strategy was designed. It enables them to make more sales, thus more profit.

However, I am concerned with what it can do to our mother earth. Business people have come up with many ideas to deploy our natural resources in order to make new products. And they claim that these products will help make our life more convenient and easier which they do. But the trouble is that they purposefully make the goods unable to last as long as they should to maximize their profit.

The shorter a product survives, the more money will be made, but more resources will be used. And the vicious cycle continues... until no more is left.
