Does “Klux” sound like “class”?
「Klux」の発音は、「class」の発音と同じように聞こえますか?
I heard someone say, “Have you ever been to a class meeting?” in an American drama, but it didn’t make any sense if I thought about the story itself.
アメリカのドラマで「クラス会に行ったことがありますか?」と聞こえたのだけれど、話の筋からすると意味不明なのです。
I’m guessing that they were talking about Ku Klux Klan.
クー・クラックス・クランのことを話しているのだと思うのだけれど。
I’m wondering about whether “Klux” sounds like “class” to you, too.
果たして皆さんにも「Klux」が「class」に聞こえるのか疑問です。
Does it make sense that saying, “Have you ever been to a Klux meeting?”
「クラックスミーティングに行ったことがありますか?」と言うのは意味を成しますか?
Note: My Japanese sentences are loose translations.
注意:日本語の文章は意訳です。

No. "Klux" is pronounced the same as "clucks", with the short u sound like in "butter" and "run". "Class" is pronounced with the Anglo-Saxon short a sound, like in "bad" and "fast". These sounds are not similar at all.
Perhaps they said "Klan meeting"? That's a lot closer.
Does “Klux” sound like “class”?
No, not at all. In English, an 'x' is almost always pronounced as a 'k' sound followed by an "s" sound. Think about the word "six", if you have heard recordings of it. The vowel sound is also different, but that difference will be harder for you to hear, since many different English vowel sounds become ア in Japanese.
I’m guessing that they were talking about the Ku Klux Klan.
No one would ever say just "Klux" for "KKK".
"Ku Klux" is supposed to sound like a rifle being prepared to fire. "Klan" is really "clan".
My listening isn’t good.
