I don’t have much time to write this entry now, so I’m going to ask you simply.
When do you use this word, “diversion”?
I learned the word from an American drama, “Desperate Housewives”.
A man used this word, when he meant that he thought that his older girlfriend went out with him for a diversion after her divorce.
Is it right to say, “I’m learning foreign languages for my diversion”?

I hope my sub-par explanation helps, haha.
You can certainly say that you learn foreign languages as a diversion, but it suggests that you are not really serious about it; that you do it for fun, but that becoming proficient at the languages is not an important goal for you.
