After the war, in order to pay back the money, Scarlett married Frank who was a grocery’s boss. She found her husband’s ability was so mediocre that she was more better than him in business, so Scarlett used other money which mortgaged herself to borrow from Butler, bought a sawmill and kept Frank out of it. She made her business so well through employed some low-cost prisoners and cheated ignorant person, competed with other men publicly in the city. Even in the entire pregnant period, she still ran in the streets for her business in spite of family’s dissuasion and other’s gossip. Scarlett achieved financial independence by her own unremitting efforts, became either a successful businesswoman or a flagship in this emerging capitalist society. Faced the unfair and hatred of both men and unreconstructed women in Atlanta, she just shrugged of it. This even more highlighted her character, made her self-worth achieved. Women only in financial independence so that they can realize the independent of thought. Now Scarlett already had such condition, she was the owner of Tara, she protected Tara with earning much money and expanding her business. Although she was a woman, she was so extraordinarily in those days. She was the delegate of women's liberation movement, never the accessory of man. Scarlett had already found the position in a world that was still essentially male dominated, set a good example for other women. Women's independence consciousness made them stand up truly, also realized their own values endlessly.
