It is a rainy season in Japan. We call it Tsuyu (梅雨）. I sometimes write about the frequent use of umbrella in Japan. Yes, most people walk on a side walk holding their umbrellas.
Even people riding a bike often hold their umbrella. It is nowadays banned. Yes, it is natural. But, we don't think it is very dangerous.
I've gotten used to seat my daughters on the passenger seats of my Mama bikes when it rains lately.
This is mainly because I understood it is more natural to do so when I think of people outside Japan who think it is dangerous to do so. :)
