何がいいたいかいまひとつわからないとおもいます。この小旅行と気分について書きます。
As you may know I have been living in Kyoto for my job for over fifteen years, which seem to be long time. On the other hand, to tell the truth, I love Nagahama, my parent's home town, where I was born. This is a special place for me although there is not so sophisticated or attractive things as there are in Kyoto. It really doesn't matter for me.
もしかしたらご存知かもしれませんが、わたしは仕事の関係で１５年以上京都に住んでます。１５年は結構長いですよね。でも、正直、長浜、両親の家、私の故郷が私は大好きなんです。京都みたいに、洗練されたものとか人目をひくものとか無いですが、僕には特別な場所です。僕には全然関係ない。
We are having three holidays in Japan. I had to attend the wedding party of my both colleagues and I also had an appointment at Osaka. On the other hand my wife was not able to came back to her parent's home town this summer. This is why our family are separately staying at another place.
日本は３連休です。僕は同僚の結婚式があり、大阪に野暮用がありました。他方、嫁さんはこの夏両親の実家へ帰れなかった。なので、家族別々に別の場所で過ごしているわけです。
I will introduce a bit about Nagahama now. As you might have heard of a recent famous NHK drama "Gou himetachinosengoku" the NHK's popular TV program was based mainly on Nagahama. http://www9.nhk.or.jp/go/top.html So this drama helps many tourists to go to Nagahama. I found more tourists coming Nagahama around some streets. I picked up some pictures of them.
今の長浜をすこしご紹介しましょう。ご存知かもしれませんが、NHKの大河ドラマ 江〜姫たちの戦国〜 が有名です。このドラマは長浜ゆかりの話です。なので観光客を後押ししています。通りには、多くの観光客がいました。いくつか写真を載せます。

I had to attend the wedding party of my both colleagues and I also had an appointment in Osaka.(you would use "at" if you were referring to a more specific place. Examples: "I had an appointment at the bank," "I had an appointment at the doctor's office." If it's a city, you'd use "in.")
On the other hand my wife was not able to come back to her parents' home town this summer.
This is why our family is staying at separate places.
As You might have heard of a recent famous NHK drama "Gou himetachinosengoku," the NHK's popular TV program was based mainly on Nagahama.(Or, if you want to keep "As," you could say: "As you might have heard, there is a recent famous drama, "Gou himetachinosengoku," NHK's popular TV program based mainly on Nagahama.")
I found more tourists coming to/arriving in Nagahama around some streets. (if you wanted an exact translation of your Japanese sentence, you could say "I found many tourists in the streets.")

It really doesn't matter to me.
I had to attend the wedding parties of both of my colleagues and I also had a minor business at Osaka. (野暮用- minor businessです)
On the other hand my wife was not able to go back to her parent's home town this summer.
That is why our families are separately staying at separate places.
As you might have heard of a recent famous NHK drama "Gou himetachinosengoku" the NHK's popular TV program is based mainly on Nagahama.

I am seem to be refreshing myself here alone. ("seem to be" often implies that the statement is contrary to reality, or otherwise incomplete, for example "I seem to be relaxing (but I am really quite busy).")
You might not understand what I mean to say.
"I may seem calm, but I am really angry."
"It seems like I had to wait for the doctor a long time, but it was only 15 minutes."
I think it can also indicate that you are unsure about your conclusion. That is, you are making a conclusion based on appearances, but for one reason or another you suspect it may not be correct.
You might also use it to be polite. Instead of saying "You don't understand" you might say "You seem to have question".
I hope that helps!
I sometimes point out 「私は楽しくなかったのかもしれない」may not be good because you know about yourself best of all. I remember that.
As for me I should have written it like "I am refreshing myself ". :)

I noticed more tourists coming to in Nagahama walking around the streets.
