I was staying at my husband’s parents in Kansai for two weeks because I had problem with getting food in Tokyo. my local supermarkets had almost run out of their merchandise. Actually with small kids, It was almost impossible for me to run for the every supermarket to get possible food in this time of food crisis. So we have decided that at least kids need to be sent somewhere safer. Three days after we left Tokyo, Government officials had reported that tap-water in Tokyo had contaminated by iodine and Infants under one year should not intake. And in 20 minutes right after the report all water at stores in Tokyo are sold out in no time.(><) that was what I heard from the news in Kansai. And I was bewildered when I heard that "According to the measured data as of YESTERDAY mornings..." Why they took so long(a day and a half) to make official announcement. I think many infants already be feed with tainted tap-water during yesterday and it can be avoided if the government made a prompt announcement. I understand that it may come from Japanese goverment policy to be prudent and chariness not to cause unnessasary panic unless they are so sure about the data. A good thing is that Japanese government rationed distributive bottle of water for baby formula for all infants under one-year in affected area. Unfortunately my daughter is already one year but still feed with formula. so I need descent water for my daughter. I did not think I was able to get water in Tokyo in this difficult time, so I searched for some bottle water in Kansai to send my husband in Tokyo before returning to Tokyo. But many store sold out water already in Kansai too. I did not understand and asked my mother in law. My husband family is survivors of Hanshin massive earthquake (Another major Earthquake in past two decade) and their house was half-destroyed and re-constructed. So she has given me lot of knowledge about earthquake survivals and life in affected area. According to her that people around Kobe where the massive Hansin earthquake stroke 16 years ago had had a hard time to get water. So they are super sensitive when it comes to water.
Now that the tap water in Tokyo are okay to drink. and I somehow managed to get water for my little daughter.
My husband made joke that some company already started to produce stabilized iodine cookies for Tokyo tourist souvenir and they flew off. It was silly but it gave me a great laugher. Many thanks and appologies for not replying messages and comments for past two week.

I hope everything is back to normal soon^^
Thank you for your correction.

You must be having a hard time! I'm very glad you're safe.
At times like these it must be difficult having children. You must worry more about your one year-old daughter than yourself.
Hang in there!
